“Cheri... “A soft male voice called out to me. “Cheri darling wake up… Wake up…”

I began to come back to consciousness again. My eyes fluttered opened and I quickly shielded them with my arm from being blinded by a bright light. “What the?” I started and sat up back alarmed.  I was lying on a huge soft bed. It clearly belonged to a wealthy individual from its fine white laces and heavenly white netting that hung at its sides.

“You’re awake.” A male voice suddenly said making me jump.

Standing in the corner of the aristocrat room was a tall lean young man in a black suit and tie. He watched me not moving. The man resembled a statue, was close enough to being as pale and his features were as detailed as one. His long dark hair was pulled back into a neat pony tail.  My brain was mush and only the thought of a dark angel entered my thoughts.

“I’m glad to see you’re feeling better, I was a little worried.” The man said and bowed his head in sincerity.

He came a little closer and my heart began not pounding but felt like it had stopped.  Now his entire profile was readable. His face was feline like and carried a firm square chin. His lips were full and a juicy red. The man’s eyes were a fiery green. I tried breathing evenly but I was far too startled by his beauty.

“WH-who are y-you”? I shuddered not moving my eyes off him.

He made a gentle smile. Not so much in his mouth but his eyes more so. “I am Louis de pointe du lac. The vampire more or less and you are the silly human girl I saved.”

“How long have I been out?” I asked alarmed again by his rudeness.

“Only two days. Believe me you could have been out way longer. You must be a healthy girl to survive a vampire bite like that.”

That’s when I remembered Lestat. I suddenly felt the feeling of betrayal and disgust. “That rat.” I spat standing up.

Louis seemed surprised but didn’t back up. “I can see nothing’s changed with the brat prince.” He rolled his dead eyes.

“Wait a second you’re Louis!”

He raised his eyebrows “Yes I do believe I just told you that.”

“No you’re that vampire from Lestats journal. You’re the dark angel. You are merciful death itself.” I felt drawn to him and got close to his broad chest.

Louis looked down on me with a neither a sadness nor happiness. As though he’d just realized something, but I wasn’t sure what.  “Clever girl.” Was all he said?

He then turned away as though he needed to get some air and went through the balcony doors to stare at the night. A couple quiet minutes passed then I spoke bravely “You’re my dark angel.”

Louis slowly turned and clenched his jaw. “I’m no such thing.”

“You saved my life. I’m eternally grateful.”

He just frowned and within a blink of an eye slammed the balcony doors closed leaving me dumb founded and alone. I slid back onto the bed and pulled the thick covers over me. It felt like heaven. Indeed Louis’s presence felt heavenly. He had saved my life for some reason. That reason I did not know, and I also didn’t know what had become of Lestat. I had forgotten to ask being star struck, but part of me didn’t care because I was with Louis now. My dark angel.
