Chapter 27-Changes

Zantana's POV
Using the locator spell, I manage to trace the call by the Injustice league. I couldn't see where their base was, but at least we would be able to call them back to make a new deal. I hope Batman knows what he's doing.
The screen flickers and the Joker's image pops up. He doesn't look the least surprised. "I was expecting you Daddy bats," he cackles. I raise my eyebrow. Batman, as usual, has a stony glare and Martian Manhunter merely nods knowingly. "He has the team's powers, including my niece's. He knew what we were thinking." That's great. How do we plan a surprise attack with the injustice league reading our every thought? "The looks on your faces! Don't fret Daddy bats and Magic man, Sadly, we are not as powerful as the team, we could only get enough energy to read your minds once. But don't let that get your hopes up. We have other powers. And we know how you fight, your strategies, and so forth." I can't help but feel troubled. How will we rescue the team then? The look on Batman and Martian Manhunter's face betray the fact they are thinking the same, worrying for their protégés.
"We know what you want. And we are willing to agree to your new deal. We meet in Utah on Friday at the bay. You hand us what we want, we give you your precious children. Try to give us something fake, they die instantly. Is that settled?" Batman, martian Manhunter and I exchange glances. "We agree." Batman says finally. "Good. See you then daddy bats. And don't try anything funny. Your protégés will be the ones who pay for any...wrong doings," The Joker smiles and cuts off the camera signal. "What do we do now batman? My daughter is in the hands of that madman. So is everyone else's. We can really trust them?" I ask, worried. Batman remains silent for a while, considering the change in plans. "I have an idea. Get me the original members of the league."
