Hello, and welcome to Love Hearts & Coffee Cups!
Before the first chapter starts, here is a bit of background information about the two main characters for this story.

Zane works as a part-time barista at a local coffee shop in town but despises his job because of not-so-friendly co-workers and "money-enthusiastic" boss. He lives in a tiny 1-bed, 1-bath apartment alone with no pets since he could only really afford to care for himself.
So, being a fresh-out-of-college graduate and wanting to prove to his parents that he can fend for himself, Zane also worked while he was still in college part-time. His intentions were to save up for an apartment so that once he graduates, he could avoid living at home until he could get back up on his feet.
Zane isn't the closest to his family either since he tends to be very self-reliant and often stubborn when someone tries to offer him their help.
He is also trying to make it in his "art career" that he focuses on off to the side. However, he isn't the most artistically gifted since, half the time, nobody could figure out what he's made in one of his "artistic illustrations".

Nana is new in town and recently moved in with a not-so-nice flatmate. She wants to live closer to her friends but doesn't know the local area well enough to go far on her own alone.
She is also a fresh-out-of-college graduate who lives off of her IHop job with her roommate, Katelyn. She also receives help from her family to pay for bills, groceries, and other sundries. However, contrary to Zane, she is closer to her family and helps them out whenever they need it.
Nana is the type of person to rather help others before she helps herself, but Zane is the one who more-so enforces this in the way he interacts with others.
[Note that this would essentially take place post-FCU and pre-MyStreet Season 1, in case you're wondering.]

This is meant to be a silly little romcom type of story set in a coffee shop, so expect some jokes, references, and other sorts of fun things here! I think it's pretty clear there will be quite a few puns too since this prologue already has a pun in its title.
