One thing that takes a lot of courage is making a move.Trying to hype yourself up to do so is another story.
Zane is never the type to try and be so brazen to walk up to a girl and ask them for their number. He's seen it happen before, and he would rather prefer sleeping at night peacefully instead of having that cringe-worthy moment of getting rejected ruthlessly haunt him.
However, he had no clue how to get Nana's attention.
Something subtle would be best since if she doesn't notice the sign, it wouldn't fall back on him in the end. Plus, it could make a great conversation starter if she does!
He showed up to work that morning as per usual, passing by the tiny, tiny woman of whom was his boss and got the shop ready for business. Jared, the extreme Pollyanna that he is, sat at the front counter as joyous as ever with flowers and an aura of energy bouncing right off of the guy.
Zane tried his best to dodge him, but ultimately nobody could escape talking with Jared.Nobody.
"Goood morning!" He sang. "Don't you feel the joy that's in the air, Zane?"
"No." He replied bluntly. "No, I don't."
"Don't be such a party pooper! At least try to smile! You've almost got it." Jared shifted his weight onto the counter, resting his head in his hands. And as much as he didn't want to, a grin tugged at the corners of his mouth, making for a fairly awkward smile.
"Eh, close enough." Jared waved a hand towards him. "But the shop's gonna open up soon though and it's almost time to serve customers! But sadly, we're going to have to take down all of the hearts we put everywhere once the shop closes!"
"The Valentine's rush was fun but too bad that we've got to stay after to help out with it." He said, reaching above him to tap against the dangling heart decoration that hung above his head."But anywho, you do great out there!" Jared sent Zane off with an encouraging pat on the back; not that he wanted one, but was probably the one that he needed.
But the mentioning of hearts gave him a brilliant idea!
Maybe he could just write a cheesy note or whatever on her cup when she stops by! He probably saw it when scrolling through social media or it was something Vylad sent him at like 2 in the morning. By doing this, it can be subtle yet have some sort of impact in some way.But how on earth was he going to do this?
His train of thought was briefly interrupted however when Madonna's voice echoed from the kitchen.
"Who in the goddamn moved my spatula?!"

Nana strolled into the coffee shop looking as cute as ever, of course. She didn't order much; simply a latte to go and a chocolate muffin for herself.
"Alrighty, you can have a seat while we get your order ready, Miss!" Jared cheerfully said to her, gesturing to a nearby table in the shop.
Zane was rather glad to see the Mei'fwa sitting on her own when collecting orders from customers. Once her order was ready, he ever so sneakily drew a small, scribbled-in heart next to her.. name?
"'Nana'. Huh." He muttered to himself. At least now, he knows what her name is!
He handed the items to her normally despite the literal bundle of anxiety that started to manifest within him. Nana beamed and thanked him before gathering her things and heading out the door.Wonder if she'll notice it in time; otherwise, it be quite devastating for the guy.
