12. Bodies

Sorry for slow update. I have been quite busy lately which has forced me to prioritize stuff. I try to post as much as possible here, but it's hard.

Three days, they have been gone for three days. What the hell happened to them and why does no one know where they went?

I have talked to every staff of the castle and seemingly no one has heard from them in three days. Lily said she cannot smell them either. There was a group of guards that told me they were going to have dinner with someone, but they never came back from the dinner so I will investigate that.

Lily and I walked to the north side of the forest where they were supposed to have dinner. We did not use a portal or horses as we did not want to be seen. We finally found their base. They had clothes and objects that I had never seen in my life before. They might be from Layla's world, and I suppose they came through what looks like a portal.

They might be in the other world. I am not sure what I can do, even if I manage to take everyone down, I cannot just walk into the portal. There might be a whole enemy base on the other side of that portal.

We have been observing them for quite some time now and there is a woman who I think is the leader. If I manage to capture her, I can trade her for Layla and Zelda. What if they are dead? No, they cannot be, that is impossible, they cannot die that easily.

Lily and I walked back to my manor. We had to think of a plan so we could get Zelda and Layla back. The people had started to question why they had not seen or heard from Layla or Zelda in days. I had told the staff members of the castle to not tell anyone about their disappearance for now.

"I do not know what to do, I do not know what to do Lily, this is so frustrating," I repeated. I felt a gentle pair of arms wrap around me from behind. "Please stay calm Marce. We just have to use our time to think about a solution." Lily said.

"That is what bothers me, I do not think we have time." I turned around to see my beautiful mate with her kind light blue eyes, but she looked worried. "But do not be worried we will get them; I am sure of it," I said.

She smiled.

2 more days had gone by and someone from the castle had called upon the citizens to stand outside the castle for an announcement. I have no idea what this announcement will be about, but I do hope Layla and Zelda have come back.

Lily and I waited in anticipation with the crowd. We got a few curious looks as a lot of people in Alethia knew who I was. The woman we had seen just two days ago stood there. I knew she was a leader. What worried me was that Neither Layla nor Zelda was there.

"Hello, citizens of Alethia. I have come from another world, the same world as Layla your beloved leader came from. You are all probably wondering where your queens are, well before we get to that I will announce a few things." The woman said. I did not like where this was going at all. Who did she think she was?

"I am from this day on, your new queen" Everyone started to talk and shout at her. They said things like "We do not want you" and "we have queen Zelda and queen Layla"

"Quiet!" She yelled. Everyone became quiet and waited for her to say something.

"Your queens are dead"

No, this cannot be true. I looked at Lily she looked as shocked as everyone else. I heard gasps all around me, but they were still silent after that.
