Alexis' POV
I woke up to my phone ringing. "What the hell?" I asked as I picked up. "Hello?"
"Alexis, this is Helen White from Record at UAFS," said Helen. I sat up quickly. "I got your drop out file. You didn't provide any form of income."
"Wait, wait, wait," I said rubbing my eyes. "I didn't put in a drop out file."
"Didn't you walk in this morning at eight?" asked Helen.
"I haven't even left my home," I said. "I don't even have a class today." There was a knock on the door. "Helen, let me call you right back when I think this over even though I didn't turn it in."
"Alright," said Helen. "You have a good day."
"You too," I said hanging up. "Ugh." I opened the door to Blake and the guys. "Oh, it's you."
"Did you just wake up?" asked Drew as they walked in.
I closed the door and grabbed my blanket off the couch. "No," I said. "Well, yes, by a phone call." I crossed my arms. "Who put in a drop out file for me?" All eyes went toward Blake. "That's what I thought. I don't think I want to quit school just to go on tour."
"Why not?" asked TC. "It'll be fun."
"And so what exactly?" I asked. "I don't have a reason to be there. You don't really need me."
"But we do," said Devin. I raised an eyebrow at him. He secretly pointed at Blake. "Just to stop it."
"I'm not your secret weapon," I said. "Sorry guys. How are you dealing with this TC?"
"Its life Alexis," said TC. "I know I can't see my girl all the time." I looked at TC. "But if my girl had the chance to tour, I would tell her to take it to see her everyday."
"But I'm not with Blake," I said.
"You can still be our guitarist," said Drew. "Come on. You know your amazing."
"You're not getting this," I said. "Let me see if you'll understand it this way." I sat on the couch and put my blanket on me. I grabbed my guitar. "Okay."
"Ooo," said Devin as he sat down. "She's going to sing a song."
I started playing the melody to Let It Go. "My mind is telling me to not do this. I gotta go for my dream. I'm not dropping out of college, just to be part of the band. The thought of leaving just leaves me in so much pain. I can't decide, just taking a chance," I sang. "Don't let them in. Don't let them see. Be the good girl you always have to be. Conceal, don't feel. I must say no. I cannot go." I looked at them. "I said no. I said no. Can't go on this tour with you. I said no. I said no. Turn away and slam the door. I don't care what you're going to say. I can't go with you. This choice never bothered me anyway." I sighed as I kept playing. "It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small. And the fears that once controlled me, can't get to me at all. It's time to see what I can do to test the limits and break through." I smiled when I looked at Blake. "No right, no wrong, no rules for me. I'm free!" I kept playing the chords. "I said no. I said no. I can finally see a path. I said no. I said no. I'll never regret this choice. Here I stand and here I'll stay. I can't go with you." It was finally time for the bridge. "My answer flurries though the air into your ears. My choice is made with confidence and no regrets. And one thought situations is a crueler task. I'm never going back. The past is in the past!" I held the note and went straight into the chorus. "I said no! I said no. I'm not changing for peer pressure. I said no. I said no. That perfect girl is gone!" I looked at the guys. "Here I stand in my light of choice. I can't go with you!" I held the note for a while. "The choice never bothered me anyway." I played the last chords.
