" Jess it's so good to see you." There standing right in front of me was my father. His hair was combed back in a black Raven fashion. His eyes twinkling wildly. His smile as warm as it always was. His bare hug making me feel safe. But I had questions, and needed answers.
" Dad, why did you leave? Why didn't you come back? You left us for a year with us thinking you had died. " Tears filled my eyes. Yes I was emotional and upset I had a right to be. " Then I find out vampires exsist is there anything I should know?" Once I calmed down enough my dad spoke to me.
" I left because I was in trouble with the council. Years ago I fell in love with a human your mom. Which the council forbids, but they never found me until last year. Then I had to leave. It's why I never came back. I am truly sorry you had to go through alot of this because of me."
He paused for a couple minutes then spoke again,
" Yes vampires do exsist. You are half vampire half human. But you have half more human in you then the vampire part. Which is why you don't heal fast. It's also why the cancer has still spread. " My mind and body went numb. But somehow words still came out.
" That is not possible. I cannot be half vampire! I am fully human like mom. I have lived with u for years you never gave me a reason to think you were a vampire." I know it sounds mean to bring it up and maybe Abit rude. But I needed to know all of it. Dad chuckled thinking back on it.
" You never noticed because I am good at hiding that side from you. And I knew that when the time was right you would find out on your own. That is why I told your mom not to say anything. " My heart was pounding my lips were dry. And my lump in my throat was back.
I cried again, not loud but enough to let it out. Thinking my dad would give me some space, to cry he did not instead, he grabbed me and held me close. It truly felt like home. As I dried my tears I was finally calming down. Being with my dad made me feel so much better.
As the sun was begining to set for the day, beams of light wandered all over the place. Diffrent Vampires flinching away from it or standing still. I noticed my own skin on my arm in the sun and noticed nothing happening.
" So the thing about vampires and sunlight is true." Being me I laughed about it. But no one seemed to be laughing back. It was almost as if I should not have spoken at all. Father. Let out a chuckle. But moved me aside.
" Light has a way of killing us so it's not a laughing matter. You did not know so I am letting u know. " Frankly, I never knew how serious all this sunlight thing was but I imagine now it was alot. Of course knowing my dad his mind wandered onto a different topic.
" We now need to talk about wheather we should turn her or not. " Vampires all around us slowly nodding while others talked in hushed tones. I was confused what my father meant. So in dispute of it all I asked.
" Dad, who are you suppose to turn? And why?" Lowering his eyes he scratched his head, and very slowly looked at Simon. There eyes locking togather Simon as quiet as he was nodding to my dad.
" We either have to change you or kill you."
