Hello,
I hate to bother you but it was suggested to me that I write to you. He said that you would be able to help me. I am a writer and can't seem to find much inspiration.
I apologize for not introducing myself. I'm Lily. I have just moved here from Arizona. I write small articles and stories and send them to competitions, editors, publishers, or post online. I've been having a lot of trouble finding an idea. He said you could help.
I enjoy writing fiction but am trying to expand. Test the waters I guess you could say. I've looked everywhere I can. They say to write, you have to read, and boy have I been reading. To the point that I'm re-reading the same books. I've looked on forums, read book after book, gone to meetings, talked to other writers, I even stepped away from my writing entirely to find an idea. I wouldn't call it writers block or I couldn't write this letter. Is it lack of motivation? Was I wrong to try something different? Is it procrastination?
Someone suggested I write about the media. About what's going on. I think it's a dumb idea. Who wants to read about the new brand of cereal, or car, or phone, or whatever. There's nothing interesting to write about, but it's words on a page. So, I guess I'm writing about cereal.
