My breathing started getting heavier as I laid there on the sidewalk , Luke on top of me . I could tell his breathing was heavy as well . "You scared me" he managed to say through his loss of breath by pushing me out of the way of the incoming truck . "You saved me ." Those were the only words that seemed to come out of my mouth . "Why wouldn't I ." He slowly got off of me , sitting down right beside me . "You saved me ." "Yes , yes I did ." i looked up at him , about to repeat myself for the third time now . "You save- most people would've let that truck hit me ." I started to choke on my words , knowing that what I just said was the truth . Normally , people wouldn't be saving me . I just stood up , And luke did the same . He noticed my tears that were starting to slide down my cheeks . He pulled me into a tight hug , making there no space between us . "Shh , don't cry ," he carefully combed my hair with his fingers "lets go back to my place ." He whispered oh so quietly in my ear . "We can have a movie night . Maybe a little bit of comedy . Or drama ..." His eyes started wondering off to the light blue sky above us . But still , not letting me go . "Or maybe horror so I can cuddle with you and protect you and make sure you're safe ." He looked back at me and noticed how I wasn't sad anymore . "Okay ." I whispered to him "but maybe not watch horror movies ... I will have to sleep with the lights on and my eyes wide open for the rest of my life . But , you can still cuddle with me and protect me ." I smirked at him , "will do ." He said as we started walking to his place . His arm wrapped around my waist the whole walk there , making sure I was safe .
