Annie's POV

*~Before Maya told Jess to go home~*

I was at home doing my usual thing, which is Nothing! I absolutely adore my life. I don't have chores, don't have to listen to my mom, technically I don't have to do everything Maya and Jessica do.

I was sitting on the couch watching, God-knows-what when the phone rang. I looked at the caller I.D. And didn't recognize it. So I just answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Annie! It's your big cousin Maya here!"

"Hey what's up, loser?"

"Nothing much punk. Hey um, I really need to talk to you about something.."

"Sure. Anything."

I heard sniffing over the line and I could easily tell she she was trying not to cry.

"M-my parents are g-gone.." she whispers.

"Oh my god! Are you guys ok?"

"Y-yes we are. We are staying at a hotel, well, more like an apartment building in Ireland. We are staying with some really good friends of ours."

"That's good. I was getting worried there."

"Haha, yea, no need to be. Anyways, the main reason I called was because, the school called."

"What for?"

"Just a reminder that vacation is over in a week."

"Are you guys flying back here?"

"No. But Jessica will. We are going to move out here instead. But I really want Jessica to finish middle school in El Paso. Then, she would start high school here."

"Oh I see.."

"Yea, I was also wondering if you could take care of her for the rest of the semester, since she isn't a legal minor."

"Yea. Of course! I'm sure Jacob would love her company!"

"Great! I'll have my friends fly you guys over here to get her. They can also pay for the trip back."

"Oh no that's fine. Really..."

"Oh no insist! They probably can get you first class tickets."

"Are you sure about this Maya?"

"Yes I'm positive. But my question is how will she do with Eva?"

"She left with her dad a few weeks ago. Just her mom is here and so is Ernie."

"Ok, that's good with me. I'll call you later ok?"

"Ok, I wish you guys the best of luck and a happy birthday to your mom who will be dearly missed."

"Thanks Annie. Love you!"

"Love you too! Bye!"

"Bye!"

With that the line was dead. When she mentioned Eva, I was a little nervous. Since Eva never really had the chance to actually meet Maya and Jessica, Eva started on the wrong foot. They would become bossy with each other but Eva got used to Maya. Never really Jessica. I also felt sorry about my aunt and uncle. They were good people, sometimes would even think of them as my own parents since I would sleep over at their house sometimes.

"Jacob!" I call.

"Yea?" I says, coming into the living room.

"Make sure your room is clean next Friday. We are having a guest!" I reply.
