I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Oh, God," I heard Lucas scoff.

Oh, shit.

I'm gonna have to walk by them all just to get my damn ride home.

If I had a car, I'd gladly take it.

Unfortunately, I'm underage.

(I literally always wanna steal a car and escaped whenever life gets tough lmaoooo. But, I'd get arrested. And that ain't happenin)

"I just need my bike." I muttered, trying to avoid their stares.

I'm just not ready to face them yet.

At all.

I heard them all scoff, but Max and El seemed confused.

I started walking past, meeting Max's stare.

"Did Mike not tell you yet?" I said.

"What?" She said.

"But seriously, what are you doing here?" Mike said, ignoring me and continued on with their conversation, emphasizing every word.

"Shopping." El answered, dully.

"This is her new style." Max said. "What do you think?"

"What's wrong with you? You know she's not supposed to be here." Mike said.

"What is she, your little pet?" Max said.

"Yeah." El said. "Am I your pet?" She repeated, dully.

I then realized that I had been staring. I rolled my eyes and continued moving.

"What? No!" Mike retorted.

"Then why do you treat me like garbage?" She asked, hurt.

"What?"

"You said Nana was sick."

"She is!" Mike said, obviously lying. "She is. She is sick."

I scoffed.

"This doesn't concern you," I heard Mike mutter.

I scoffed again, and actually caught a grip on my bike, pulling it out of the rack.

I honestly didn't even realize that Will was standing next to me.

"Hey, I'm sorry... you know... for everything that happened..." He said. "You know... this morning."

He's actually sorry?

I made a light scoff and looked to the side. "You don't have to be."  He looked down. "It was my fault, and I deserve it." He twiddled with his fingers. It honestly hurt to replay that scene is my mind again.

I had to go, but I couldn't help not watch how Mike was struggling to lie.

"Yeah, sick-- she's sick." Lucas said. "She's super sick. That's why, we're here actually."

"Yeah, we're shopping. Not for us, but for her, for Nana."

I laughed.

"For Nana." Lucas repeated.

"Also, we're here to get a gift for you. Just, we couldn't find anything that suited you, and I only have, like, $3.50, so it's hard."

(SO FREAKING RELATABLE HA OMG XDDDD)

"Super. Hard." Lucas said. "It's-- it's expensive."

El glared at Mike.

"You lie." She said. I felt the suspense rising. "Why do you lie?" She seemed hurt. Mike didn't say anything. In fact, he was speechless. The bus in the back started stopping, and El looked back, knowing her ride was about to come.

She looked back at Mike, and got closer to his face.

"I dump your ass." She said.

My jaw dropped, and I covered my mouth, trying to suppress laughter.

Never in a million years did I ever think that El would dump Mike's ass, ever.

Max's jaw also dropped.

They then walked, or jogged, to the bus, and I saw that as I cue to leave.

I mounted my bike, and left.

The tea!

But...

Even if that made my day better...

I'm still going to have to deal with their anger once they find out...

I just don't know if I can handle the pain much longer.

I really don't.
