(By the way, this chapter is all about El and Max if you're wondering, just so we can build up some of the story. Juicy shit is gonna happen I think in the next chapter, but stay tuned ;))

-At Max's house-

Max was singing along to the song in the radio, "Angel." El was looking at some magazines.

El flipped and found a page with a picture of Ralph Macchio on it.

Max stopped and saw El looking at the picture.

"Oh, you found Ralph Macchio," She said, putting the mic down and sitting in front of El.

"Macchio?" El asked.

"Yeah, he's the Karate Kid. Hi-yah!"Max said, making an arm chop, making El jump. But they both laughed. "He's so hot, right? I bet he's an amazing kisser, too." El widened her eyes and looked at her like she was crazy. "Hey, uh... is Mike a good kisser?" She asked, getting deep.

"I don't know," El responded. "He's my first boyfriend."

"Ex-boyfriend," Max corrected. El looked a little sad thinking about it. "Hey, don't worry about it, okay? He'll come crawling back to you in no time, begging for forgiveness. I guarantee you, him and Lucas are like, totally wallowing in self-pity and misery right now. They're like, 'Oh, I hope they'll take us back,'" She said, in a pouty tone. They both laughed. "God, what I wouldn't give to see their stupid faces."

El looked down.

"What is it?" Max asked.

-

The radio was crackling, and El was wrapping a blindfold over her eyes.

Max sat down on the bed.

"Is this really gonna work?" Max asked.

She and El were gonna spy on the boys, through El's superpowers.

El didn't answer Max, only nodded.

"Holy shit, this is insane!" Max chuckled.

"Max." El scolded.

"Yeah, quiet. I'm sorry." Max retorted, getting the hint that she's supposed to stay quiet.

In El's mind, she heard distorted voices. She recognized Mike's voice, and Lucas's voice.

Then she found herself in the black surroundings once more.

"What did I do wrong?" Mike asked. "What could I have done wrong?" He sulked.

He was laying on the couch, face up, eating Cheetos, all while sulking. Lucas was pacing in front of the couch, and Will was in his own world setting up a board game.

"Do I have to go through this again?" Lucas asked.

"I see them." El said to Max.

Max sat down next to her.

"What are they doing?"

"Eating." El responded.

Mike crunched on another cheeto.

"I just don't understand what I did to deserve this."

"Nothing. Nothing. That's my whole point. You are the victim here!"

"I know, it's just, why is she treating me this way? I don't know,"

"Mike--" Lucas said, rubbing his face.
