Marie pulled Mitchell to her parents, holding his hands.
"Father, Mitchell, Mitchell, Father. Mother, Mitchell, Mitchell, Mother, Caleb, Mitchell, Mitchell, Caleb."
She said, introducing everyone with hand gestures.
Her parents are really strict, so she hopes they won't comment negatively on Mitchell.
"Boy, what's your natural hair color?" my father asked.
She coughed, looking at her feet.
"Black, sir," Mitchell said, barely muttering.
Finally, the awkwardness ended, and the families sat down to eat. The twins were mischevious, grinning the whole time. The oldest sibilings glared at each other. The parents kept talking.
"When did you two lovebirds meet? When did you start dating?" asked Mitchell's older sister, Christina.
Tobias giggled and turned red. Mitchell tells that boy EVERYTHING. They are best friends.
" School, basically," Mitchell answered.
"In high school, near senior year, a bit in sophmore." Marie said.
Christina nodded.
It was nice, but they didn't talk much. Marie would much rather be at home, eating Thanksgiving dinner with Mitchell, watch a movie, and cuddle. But, it had to be this way.
Marie isn't exactly smitten with her parents, neither is Mitchell. Marie's were basically NOT THERE, Mitchell's were unkind. But today, they had to make an effort not to bring that into the conversation.
After the turkey, everyone just hung out, Caleb talked to Mitchell, the parents talked together, Marie was pulled around by the twins, and talked to Christina. It was a pretty nice day, in all the events.
At the end of the night, everyone started to leave, and Marie's father pulled Mitchell out to talk, along with Caleb.
"Boy, if you do anything to hurt her-"
"I LOVE HER, if you actually think I have the HEART to hurt Marie, think again, Mr Holmes," Mitchell said, walking away.
"He's good," muttered Caleb.
Marie got a talk as well. From Mitchell's mom.
"You better learn to talk to elders with respect, with no sarcasism, missy,""Alright, but what I said was the truth, Ms. Knight. Wouldn't dream of being sarcastic."
After the night, the couple drove home. They finally got there, and sat down on the couch. They cuddled, watching a random movie.
"That was stressful," Marie said, yawning.
"Sorry for my mother, love."
"No, it's alright. I always get asked about my hair and paleness.""My dad was so strict with you," Marie said, with an apologetic face.
"After dinner, he talked to me, and said that if I hurt you, I would get it.""You wouldn't do anything to hurt me, Mittens. We both love each other. We wouldn't hurt each other, even for a million dollars. Just pay him no attention," Marie said, kissing him on the cheek.
He blushed.
"Time to go to bed, so we can sleep our hearts out. G'night, love," Mitchell said, kissing her on the forehead.
"G'night. I'll probably read a bit. I read nothing at all today," Marie said, hugging him good night.
"Try not to fall asleep in mysterious places, babe." He said with a smirk.
"I'll try," Marie said, smiling.
