C A M I L L EBolts of lightning fill the room as Thor grabs the handle, his lips lifting into a wide smile as he lifts the hammer over his head.
"I'm still worthy!" He beams.
I couldn't help but smile seeing my friend so excited, "I never had a doubt."
"Oh, thank you!" He exclaims, pulling me into a tight hug, "I don't really know you but you've been the nicest anyone has ever been to me in a long time."
My heart aches to hear the words leave his mouth. How long have they been suffering because of my actions?
"Lady Camille?" Thor calls, snapping me out of my daze, "Are you alright?"
"Of course, I am." My smile widens.
"We should go celebrate, Lady Camille!" Thor grins at me, "This calls for a huge celebration! Drinks, on me!"
"I suppose we could drop by a bar for a few drinks, but just a few. Your drinking habits are atrocious, but we'll make an exception for today." I shrug, Do you have cash on you?" I question jokingly.
Thor's face falls, looking incredibly confused.
"Cash?" He furrows his brows.
I couldn't help but chuckle, "Don't worry about it, I'll pay. Let's go."
Just as I was about to lead Thor out of the building, I hear the faint sound of footsteps approaching.
I curse under my breath, "Someone's here." I whisper.
I bring a finger to my lips and signalling the God to stay silent.
Thor nods with his hammer at the ready, even though he looked slightly confused.
I reach for the gun I've brought with me just in case, slowly making my way down the empty hall and checking every turn.
Just as I convinced that it was just my mind playing tricks on me, I see a figure running across down from the corner of my eye.
I quickly whirled around, but the figure was long gone by now.
"Artemis." A voice calls from behind me.
I turn, to see Strucker, himself standing behind me, his hands tucked behind him back as he stares at me with a smug smile on his face.
"Strucker." I greeted, "What's the occasion? You usually send your son."
Strucker scoffs, "That useless child never gets the job done. I figured I'll come get you myself."
"I'm afraid I can't let that happen, Strucker." I watch him carefully as he starts to pace around me.
"There's no use running, Artemis. We'll get you eventually. In the end, Hydra always wins."
I let out a laugh at the pure arrogance, "I would disagree. Evil never wins especially nazis. People hate nazis."
"You don't see it, but it's clear you can't run from your destiny, Artemis." Strucker finally stops pacing, "We failed to get to you the first time, but now the universe has given us a second chance. Why do think that is?"
