When bath time was over the kids went downstairs and Tessa finally had time to take her own bath. She washed her hair, the part that took the most time and thought that maybe blondie was right, she should get a haircut. "I'll PAY YOU to cut that hair right" Jordyn would joke. She put her usual work clothes, white shirt, black jeans (she had two pairs, "jeans don't get dirty" she used to tell herself) and her black boots. She combed her hair, still a bit wet, so she dried it a bit with a hairdryer. She put some make up, not much, some concealer to hide the dark circles, some powder and a little bit of blush, mascara and did her signature cat eye with the eyeliner. She looked at the necklace on her neck, holding it tight, it had a golden pendant in the shape of a little realistic heart. Tate had one too, with a realistic brain. "you're the heart, I'm the brain, you feel, I think" he'd say to her, "it's that gemini connection, we complete each other" he'd joke, usually messing her hair afterwards. For a second she got sad, thinking of how her brother would look right now, would he have a beard? Would he have painted his hair green? Would he have a girlfriend? Be married? he hated the idea of love, of falling for someone, that's why he'd always give Tessa's boyfriends a hard time and tell her to dump them.

"they'll just hurt you and pull you back, you're a star, for fuck sakes" he'd yell at her.

She gave the necklace a quick kiss and took a deep breath, looking at her reflection on the mirror. She really looked like a female version of her brother.

Tessa went downstairs, bringing her white backpack with her, with a little key ring written "NY".

"So I made some pasta for dinner" she said, taking the last step of the stairs "are you hungry?" she said, looking at the kids and noticing they were close to their parents, both of them changed their clothes and looked a bit more fancy.

"Don't need to worry, Tess, we're heading out for dinner" Jordyn said, picking up her louis vuitton purse.

"you wanna come?" Dave asked, with a gentle smile.

"Oh no, thank you, I have to head back to work" she put her backpack on her back.

"work? weren't you just working now?" Taylor said, quickly getting Tessa's attention.

"I have two jobs" she opened a shy smile "life ain't easy for the poor, I bet you guys forget that a lot" she joked and they laughed.

Tessa thought Taylor had the cutest smile. white teeth, small charming lips, and that rough blondish beard. "god dammit" she thought, trying to look away, but her eyes were stuck on his handsome complexion.

"I have to go now" she said, looking away from Taylor, into the couple, that had a funny smile, while watching Taylor and Tessa interact "gotta catch two buses" she took a deep breath, thinking of how tiring was to get from the mansion to her work.

"I can give you a ride" Taylor quickly made himself available "where do you work?", he said, tapping his pockets, looking for his car keys.

"oh it's far, I don't wanna trouble you, I bet you live five blocks from here in a mansion like this one" she teased him "with the wifey, the kids and a tennis field 30 times the size of my small ass flat".

"ha ha" he said, laughing at the quirky girl standing in front of him.

"Actually Taylor is living in a hotel room for the last 7 months, it's depressing" Dave added "Divorce has turned Taylor into a lazy being, pizza eating, stink being, womanizer, that smells like beer and women's cheap perfume" Dave teased him even more, Taylor gave him an ugly look, Tessa didn't know at the time, but Taylor was doing his best to look cool and impress her and he thought Dave wasn't helping at all.

"Thanks, Dave" he laughed, shyly.

"you welcome dude!" he hugged the blonde.

"divorced?" Tessa said, without really thinking and quickly regretting.
