author's note: hey guys! I just wanted to say this story is coming close to it's end! I do have another Taylor story ready to go, let me know if you're interested in it, because I'm kinda tired of writing and no one reading it, it's kinda demotivating and it's really sad to feel like I'm writing to the walls you know? Every writer gets this I think, so if you could let me know in the comments I'd really appreciate it because I just love writing stories like this.
Enjoy!!

It had been a month since everything had happened, from Tessa's disappearance to Taylor going after her and the decision to move in together. The couple had decided to spend another week together at the hotel since the Foo Fighters would be playing a show in town soon, so they took the time to hang out for Tessa to show her life before California, before Jordyn and Dave, before Taylor.
She took the blonde to meet her brother and nephews, which was a total success since Taylor was great with kids and extremely polite, which pleased Tessa's brother a lot, who soon approved the relationship and was happy to see his sister moving on with her life. They also went to Jack and Rebecca's house, drank wine, told stories about the past, Tessa and Rebecca's adolescence, talked about Tate and how happy he would be to know that his sister was being well taken care of, loved and respected, after they laughed about the event of the previous week.
And it was great, it was amazing to see this side of Tessa that he had never seen before, to see her getting around the city, a true native, talking about how she knew every subway line while they ate a hot dog sitting on the curb in front of Time Square, telling Taylor how Tate hated that place because of all the light and noise it had and she loved it exactly for that. They had a picnic in Central Park and Tessa told how she spent most of her Sundays there, playing with Tate, drinking lemonade, and when she was older, running every day. She showed him the small apartment she lived in alone for the first time, only from the outside seeing that it was now lived in. She showed him hidden places that only locals knew about, they went to her favorite restaurant and bought a bunch of crap, including an analog camera that Tessa used to keep forever, in photo format, memories of the best week of her life. And at night, she slept hugging him, without having a single nightmare, in a peace of knowing that when she woke up, he would be there, well, if he wasn't, he would be at the hotel gym working out, but he always left a note for her.
Finally the night before the concert had arrived, it would be the first concert that Tessa would go as a guest and she was a little afraid, the guest list was huge and Taylor warned that this kind of thing could be very...overwhelming. Lots of people, lots of noise, lots of security, lots of chaos, intense was understating what it was like to play at Madison Square Garden.
Dave had decided to arrive a day earlier exactly to see Tessa, he was dying to see her and was staying in the same hotel. They had talked to each other since Tessa had risen from the ashes thanks to Taylor, but they hadn't seen each other in person or spoken on the phone, the truth was that Tessa was dying of embarrassment and felt extremely guilty for having hurt Dave. She knew that even though he was acting normal, it was clear that he was upset and it was totally her fault, at least that's what Tessa believed. So when she heard the knock on the door and Dave yelling to "stop fucking like bunnies and open the door motherfuckers" Tessa felt her heart stop and anxiety take over every inch of her body.
"It's going to be okay, you guys are best friends aren't you? He loves you, he would never be mean to you and well if he did he would make it clear, but he's not, trust me" Taylor said giving his girlfriend a kiss on the top of her head, who was cringing like a child who fucked up, her hands in the pockets of her black sweatshirt.
Taylor walked over to the couch in the bedroom, sitting there, more as a moral support, because he didn't want to meddle in their mess, it was better to let the thing unfold on its own. Tessa finally plucked up the courage and walked to the door calmly, opening it slowly, coming across a bearded Dave in cold weather clothes, with a wide smile on his face.
"What? I've aged 10 years in 1 week and nobody told me? Should I start using Botox?" he joked, noticing the clear tension that took over Tessa, who hugged her own body looking at him, sighing heavily when he realized that his joke had not softened the girl, on the contrary, it had made her eyes fill with tears "hey, I'm not mad at you, I just really, really miss you, so can you give me a hug soon or I'll have to fill out a form asking for a hug, hm?".
That was enough for Tessa to collapse and start crying, she went to Dave giving him a strong hug, her arms wrapped around the brunette's neck, crying like a child, repeating over and over "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry", while Dave passed his hand over the brunette's back, trying to calm her down and god how comforting he knew how to be.
"I missed you so much, but I didn't want to get in your way and I figured Jordyn would have already put you against me and you would hate me too" she said sinking her face into her friend's neck "I'm a terrible friend, aren't I?"
"Hey, don't you dare say that, you're my best friend, you're a Grohl, have you forgotten?" he pulled away from the girl slightly so he could look at her "as for Jordyn, I think you guys better sit down".
Dave then went on to tell the story of what had really been happening in the last few months, how his relationship with Jordyn was increasingly strained and her outburst was the last straw that made him realize that he was no longer happy and that this was not the woman he had fallen in love with. he explained that they had tried couple's therapy, but in the end she had asked for a divorce, she blamed it on the tiredness of feeling like a single mother, even though she knew how much he loved his daughters, she said that his absence was too much and that she wanted to have a career of her own, that she didn't just want to be the wife of a rock star and that she could only achieve her goals if...well, if they made the divorce real. And the morning before she had filed the papers, bringing to an end what had been a long journey.
Dave clearly wasn't well and wouldn't be anytime soon, but he was strong and had the support of those who loved him, he cried a little and drank some more, soon becoming a little calmer.
"Hey couple, are we going to have fun today or what?".
