Lizley was crying.
Once again but this time on the floor of a train station. But her crying evolved into soft sobs as the man stood up with his hands raised. Behind him stood Finn with a gun ready to blow the strangers brain into Lizley's face in just a pair of knickers
and a under shirt."Gimme my cap" He ordered Lizley and she followed his command immediately as she was impressed from him being so stern.
He cut slightly over the strangers jaw making him wince. Liz watched the blood drip slowly onto his dirty neck.
"Don't mess with the Peaky fucking Blinders. Now fuck off" Finn was just as impressed as Liz was from his behavior. " Are you okay?" He asked softly as he kneeled next to her with his eyes soft.
"I'm so sorry " She cried out hopeless, embarrassed and scared at the same time. She just wanted to go home. But she had no place to call home anymore.
"Liz" Finn mumbled sternly and a little annoyed as he removed a few strands of hair from her face to check if she was injured.
His heart still felt like he just ran from the devil. When he woke up in the middle of the night from the noise of the front door his guts felt light immediately. He was alone in the house since everyone now had their own place. John just a few houses farer on Watery Lane but still he could die in the middle of the night without anyone realizing or worse Liz. Then it hit him and he sprinted to her room that used to be Arthur's just to find her bed empty. His coat was gone but luckily not his gun. For once he was forced to be a man.
"Ya just the glass" She said through her soft shakily sobs as she tried to stop herself. A little, warm smile danced on his lips as he fixed the cap on her head. He was so relieved that she was fine and that he caught her after all.
"Come here" He struggled to pick her up but managed it in the end. She leaned in to listen to his heartbeat as it started to get slower as he walked back to Watery Lane.
She felt just like a fragile doll in his arms. Like she was broken but he tried to hold her together.
"Oh fucking hell" She breathed out as Finn pulled the glass out of her skin. It was disgusting to feel it removed from her body.
"Okay please don't scream" He said as he took a bottle of alcohol to pour it on her wounds. She already dug her nails in the fabric of the sofa as she nodded to him that she was ready. As he did so she gasped. But it wasn't as bad as she expected. The unbelievable pain never came. It was just an intense itch. "You're so fucking stupid if I can point that out without insulting you"
"You're insulting me" She managed to chuckle as he started bandaging her. "Finn I just don't wanna be here" Her voice sounded sad.
"Where do you want to be then huh? London?" He said almost bitter. It seemed worse to be with her father that just betrayed her than with him considering that he was her age.
"Nowhere. Just escaping my existence" She breathed in deep looking at her hands watching the candles draw shadows on her skin.
"I can't relate that but I understand what you mean. My brother Tommy got betrayed by his future wife; she turned out to be a copper." Finn said as he finished his work. "So now you will probably survive" He smiled at her making his heart beat quicken again. A little smile danced on her pink, full lips.
"My mother couldn't keep me so she gave me to my aunt who gave me to my dad who lost me and can't get me back now" The bitterness in her voice was absolutely toxic.
"Someday you'll find your place in the world; your really own place" Lizley smiled weakly towards him.
"No matter what Finn, never change who you are. Don't let this world ruin you ,you puppy" She squeezed his cheeks sweetly making her chuckle again softly.
"Aren't you tired Liz? It was a long day" He said as his eyes started to shot again as the adrenaline left his body.
"I know but I can't sleep when I lay down again" She admitted as he sat next to her.
"Come on then you can sleep in my bed" He said without any trace of perverted thoughts. She looked at him with one of her eyebrows raised slightly. "Like we are kids" He blushed as his mind drifted to other interactions.
Don't be fucking awkward, he thought as she tried standing up. But he hurried to help her stand but it resulted that he just carried her again.
"It really doesn't makes sense that you're so kind to me" She mumbled as the effects of the proximity made her calm down. His heartbeat seemed to be like a lullaby.
"Why should I be mean? You're a pretty girl, you're kind to me so I'm kind to you" He answered truthfully. "The truth is: i see you suffer from the consequences of this cruel world but you have such a kind soul so I'm just trying to make your existence a little better"
"How poetic you're Finn" She snuggled silently as she really calmed herself more than ever before since she was in Birmingham.
"I spoke my mind for goddamn once" Finn said bitterly. Something about her connected him to her. They were both born in the wrong place.
He let her fragile body rest on the mattress once again threatening her like glass. As he looked onto her little body as he stood on the edge of the bed. Something inside his mind seemed to change. He didn't thought about her body like a dumb boy that just got into puberty or like a child. He wanted to feel the soft of her skin. See all her scars that she collected over the years. Feel her scarp teeth. Run his fingers through her long hair. But mostly feel every part of her.
