Trapped a Newt Fanfic (the maze runner)

Chapter 3

Newt turns to me and says "don't worry about Gally, he'll get over it soon. He doesn't like new things that's all." I sigh at him.

What does Gally have against me? I haven't said two words to him and he looks like he wants to kill me!

Newt speaks again "do you want to go on your tour now?" I don't want to be stuck in this hut any longer so I nod my head and stand up, shaking a little.

"Woah, woah take it easy there" Newt says before rushing over to help me regain my balance, grabbing my arm gently before sliding his other hand around my waist.

I only now realize just how close we are to eachother as his chest lightly presses into mine.He pauses for a second before pulling away quickly, well that was a little awkward.

As he walks away I notice that he has a limp, I wonder why he has that?

We go out through the door, walking around as he begins his tour. By the sounds of it he has done this plenty of times and knows this place off by heart.

I start to pay less attention and start to focus on the other gladers that are just standing there, looking at me as if I was fresh meat.

I hear murmuring and it's obvious that they're talking about me.

I turn back to Newt before interrupting him, "why am I the only girl here?" I ask him.

He stands still, turning his body to face me and I do the same. He looks into my eyes "honestly, I have no idea. But I think the other guys are pretty excited about it, having a pretty girl like you in the glade."

He looks away from me hiding a sweet, shy smile. Newt just called me pretty? I try to hide my face from him as I go deep red.

We both look at eachother before walking side by side again, as he continues on with the tour. Oh my god, what just happened?
