Trapped a Newt Fanfic (the maze runner)

Chapter 8

I am shaken awake suddenly, only to see that it was Newt that was waking me up. "C'mon, I have to show you something." Well I guess we're on talking terms now. He puts a blindfold on me but I don't even both to ask what he's doing, I'm just happy that he's talking to me again. "Do you trust me y/n?" I smile before saying "Always". He grabs my hand and leads me into what I'm presuming is the forest, what is he taking me into the forest for?

After about 10 minutes I finally speak up, "Newt, what are you doing?" He holds my hand a little tighter, "Just you wait and see."

Out of nowhere we come to a sudden stop. Newt walks behind me and slowly takes my blindfold off. I look down and see a picnic beautifully laid out. I smile back at Newt, "what's all this for?" Newt grabs my hand again and sits us down. He scratches the back of his neck, looking nervous as hell. "Y/n, you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen- or at least can imagine, as I can't exactly remember any other girls.. But I don't want to. I'm completely and utterly captivated by you, so I guess I'm trying to say that.. I think I'm in love with you y/n..." All these thoughts run around my head all at once, wait did Newt just say that he loved me?! I'm brought back into reality as I feel Newt's lips on mine, but this time I don't pull back.
