Trapped a Newt Fanfic (the maze runner)

Chapter 10

The boy starts to look uncomfortable and distressed. I walk up to the boy, "Can you remember your name?" His eyes lock onto mine straight away "It's.. Er.. Thomas" he says in a quiet voice, as if it was a secret.

I start to grow in confidence, "Hey Thomas, I'm y/n." He sends me a sweet smile until Alby walks up to us, stopping our little conversation. "Chuck, go show the greenie where he's gonna eat and sleep."

Chuck emerges through the crowd with an excited grin on his face. I whisper to Thomas, "Good luck!" Sending him a smirk. He still looks completely dazed however follows Chuck back to the rooms.

The crowd dies down quickly, and I find Newt again. "He seems alright, doesn't he Newt?" Newt simply nods his head in agreement before walking off to go talk to Alby, alright then.

I decide to go find Thomas and rescue him from Chuck. I find Thomas sitting on his sleeping bag, looking a bit antsy. Right opposite him is Chuck who is rambling on about god knows what. "You alright Thomas?" They both follow the sound of my voice before spotting me at the door. "Never been better." Thomas says sarcastically, making me laugh a little.

He seems really friendly, unlike some of the other boys in the glade like Gally. "C'mon Thomas, I'll show you around." I offer. Straight away he jumps up and is already out of the door, trying to escape before Chuck offers to join us.

We start to wander around aimlessly, I turn to face him and see that he is fascinated by the maze entrances. "What is that?" He asks curiously, looking at a specific one.
"I'm not allowed to say..." I reply honestly. There's a rule that you can't tell the greenies much about the glade, it's more of a learn on the job type thing.

He sighs before I continue, "I know that's not the answer you want, trust me I was the greenie before you and I still don't know much about this place." He seems to have calmed down a little, bit still seems captivated by the maze entrance.

Suddenly, before I know it he's heading towards it. "What are you doing? You're not allowed in there!" I quickly rush out saying, in a panic.
"I'm just gonna get a closer look." This isn't gonna end well...
