Some people are afraid of happiness
They chase after darkness
Claiming to hate it's icy cold fingers
When they long for its familiarity
Happiness is a stranger
When they feel it's warm hug
They think they're being strangled
For who could possibly want to embrace them
The ones who hid behind shadows of light
The ones who believe happiness doesn't exist
The ones who would rather be
Scared and sad and mad and upset
Then happy and joyful and optimistic
If only someone would tell them
Being happy isn't something to be afraid of
If only someone would guide them
And show them the light
That happiness and feeling good
Isn't a stranger
But a long lost friend
...

This is such a therapeutic experience I 10/10 recommend to anyone trying to get over a person (any person whether ex, friend, parent). If you wrote through it go, over your writing and remind yourself that you powered through a bad time cause you're that fucking awesome.
I actually just wrote letters to people who hurt me (since writing is my therapist... which reminds me of NF's song therapy session) so I'm just killing it in the mental health department for now lol. I've been debating doing a To All The Boys I Ever Loved stunt and sending them, what do you think?
