Why I as a Christian won't celebrate Halloween.
First off.
What is Halloween? And what exactly does it celebrate?
A history network told me this:
On the night of October 31 they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. It's a day to celebrate all things spooky! That is just a tale, right? It's just a day to go around and do some creepy stuff! Right?
Yes, Halloween is a day to go around and celebrate: death, the devil, witchcrafts and the "paranormal" .
Although I highly doubt the tale is true but I can safely say.
Witchcraft, demons and the devil are very real.
It's not just in the stories. It's not just a 'fun.' Thing to do. It's not a game.
So back into what Halloween is!
The origins of Halloween is Celtic, at the end of summer they would make sacrifices to their gods. One of they're gods being Samhain, the lord of death, sent onto the earth reeking havoc. Attacking humans whom the only escape was the disguises to look like evil spirits themselves. In Wicca it is one of two of the highest days, that tells you something.
Halloween represents an evil, dark side of the spiritual world, that is very, very real.Eph. 5:11
