Raibaru put the ring in her pocket, in a velvet case, and left for school. She left a note in Osana's locker.
Dear Osana,
Please meet me under the cherry tree at 6:00 pm. I have a surprise for you!
~Raibaru Fumetsu.
She went about her day, as normal, and saw Osana at lunch.
"So what's this surprise?"
"It's a surprise silly!"
"I can't stand surprises! It'll bug me all day!" Osana whined and finished her bento. She waited for the moment to come. It felt like hours- which made sense since it had actually been hours. She finally came to the cherry tree, and saw Raibaru with her hands behind her back.
"What's the surprise?"
"Osana Najimi," Raibaru got down on one knee and held out the black box, and Osana knew what was happening. She started to cry. "Will you marry me?"
Tears fell down Osana's face.
"Raibaru, it's not that I don't want to marry you. It's that I can't!"
"Wh-why not?"
"Dad would never allow it! He's already angry at me for being your girlfriend."
"You don't need his permission, do you?" Osana nodded, and looked down. "I'm so sorry! I love you, and I want to marry you, but I can't!"
