12) The Miracle Of Science

(Three Months Later)

Banner Personal Lab

Bruce- Sitting at my desk with a clipboard and pen in hand. (Hums Thoughtfully) "What are your symptoms?"

Athena- Sitting up in the cold work table across from my Science Brother. (Sighs Irritably) "Fatigue; I'm tired more easily no matter how much sleep I get or what I'm doing. Nausea; Certain smells, even good makes my stomach roll. I get up at odd hours between one am and nine am. I've got the weirdest cravings, they are like even more outlandish considering I've got a taste for the strange and exotic." Tilting my head slightly to the side. "What's wrong with me?"

Bruce- I finish writing everything down into the file. (Smiles Fondly) "Nothing is wrong, though I would like to run a few tests."

Athena- (Nods) "Okay."

Bruce- Since Tony's...sorry Thea's transformation so much has changed for the Stark Heir and the Avengers grew closer as a family and became a more cohesive team. "Lay back for me." Getting up, I get what I need. "This is gonna take a few minutes." I draw her blood and then I have Jarvis do a scan for me.

Thirty Minutes Later

Athena- I sit up on the table, kicking my feet back an forth as I watch Bruce work.

Bruce- The results of the tests pop up all at once on my computer screen. (Smiles Brightly) "Ah, exactly as I expected."

Athena- My eyes widen as I look at him. "What? What is it?"

Bruce- (Chuckles) Printing out the blood work results. "Sister...congratulations, you're pregnant!"

Athena- He hands me the paper while telling me the results and I nearly fall off the table in shock. (Mutters) "What?"

Bruce- I watch her rather worried as she turns an array of colors and then a huge smile plasters itself across her face.

Athena- Getting to my feet as I wave the paper around excitedly. "I'M GONNA BE A MOMMY!"

Bruce- (Chuckles) "Next month, I can tell you the gender."

Athena- Bouncing on my toes, I throw myself at Bruce as I wrap my arms around his neck hugging him. "Thank you!"

Bruce- I return the affectionate gesture. (Shakes Head) "Don't thank me, thank your friends over at Hydra."

Athena- (Smiles Brightly) "Jarvis send my friends a fruit basket." I pause in my celebration. "I need to tell Bucky, shit." Before Bruce can say anything else, I leave the lab and head off to find my boyfriend.

Bruce- (Smiles Amusedly) I watch Thea leave the room and then get back to my current project.

Avengers Tower Gym

Athena- Instead of searching every room on every floor, I asked Jarvis whom pointed me in the direction of the gym. "Winter!"

3rd Person P.O.V- Bucky, Clint, Natasha and Sam turn their immediate attention to the petite brunette whom skipped into the room.

Bucky- Setting down the weights I was currently using, I meet my lover half way. "What is it?"

Athena- Bouncing on my toes as I give my Soldier a kiss. "I have some wonderful news."

Bucky- (Chuckles) My scientist is practically radiating with joy. "What is this wondrous news?"

Athena- I pull out both the paper that Bruce handed me and the plastic stick. "I took the stick test before coming to find you..." I hand both tests to my lover.

Bucky- My eyes widen to saucers as I look over the items Athena have to me. (Smiles and Laughs) "You're pregnant, I'm gonna be a daddy!" Handing the tests off to the nearest person, I wrap my arms around the petite brunette as I lift her off her feet. (Groans Lowly) Setting her down as I grasp her cheeks between my hands. "God, I love you!"

Athena- My face is squished between my lovers hands. (Smiles) "Wove you."

Bucky- (Chuckles) Leaning down, I press my lips to hers repeatedly.

Sam- The tests get passed around and they finish up their passionate lip locking session. (Smirks) "Congratulations, I can't wait to meet the little bean."

Natasha- (Smiles Happily) "Congratulations!" I hug them both. "I call dibs on being Godmommy!"

Clint- (Smirks and Snickers) "Welcome to parenthood again and like Nat, I call dibs on being Godfather!"

Bucky- Not able to help myself, I wrap my arms around Athena's waist as I rest my hands on her belly rubbing soothingly.

Athena- (Hums Happily) I melt into Bucky's touch as I look around at my family that is currently gathered, thinking that our little bean is really lucky to have such a family and is super loved already.
