It was the morning after me and Jace had our talk and I had been semi-threatened by Hayden. I have absolutely no idea why I am so in love with him. Something about him has always intrigued me. I feel like there's more to him rather than just the bipolar bully who gets along with my brother. But that makes me think, is there another side to Kyle, too? I mean, they are best friends after all. Anyways, I woke up and had totally forgotten what I did the night before. I walked downstairs in my pajamas and Kyle approached me, slower than usual. "What... is on... you're arm?" He asked slowly. "Wha- oh. That." I said. I immediately had years in my eyes and Kyle had pulled me into a bear hug. "Why? Why would you cut yourself?" He asked, his voice soft. I knew what he was thinking, he was thinking that this was his fault, that he should have been there for me, whatever. "It's not you. It's nothing Ky, just drop it." I said, sobbing now. "Obviously it's not nothing. What made you do this? When did you do this?" He asked. "ITS NOTHING KYLE! Just leave it." I said. I instantly regretted yelling at him, after all he was only trying to make me feel better. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry you felt you had to do this. But please, tell me why." "Because I'm bullied. You know that. You know I don't have the easiest life at school, I was sick yesterday, it was just hard." I tried, but Kyle saw right through me. He knows me so well. "Someone said something after school, that's it."
"But you were at home all day." he said, clearly confused.
"I know." I said, hoping, praying, that he would catch on.
"Wait. Did Jace do something? I swear if he hurt you I'll kill him. I will kill him, Paige."
"It wasn't Jace." I said.
"Was it me? Was it Hayden? No, Hayden loves you. He wouldn't have done anything. Was it me?"
"No, dang it, Kyle! How do you now see it? How do you not see what Hayden does to me? How he makes me feel?" I started yelling again.
"Do you- do you like Hayden?" He asked. I didn't know how to feel about the fact that that's what Kyle figured out.
"And other things." I said. "Many other thing."
