                          5.
                  ***********

"What business call is that, at midnight?" I exclaimed after I told my friend Zeo about how John left me the night before, after such an amazing moment I had with him, he just took off after getting a mysterious call.

(How skeptical)

As always Zoe had to defend him as if she had known him forever "Emily, I understand you have been hurt many times, I know you've been in unfaithful relationships-" she said,

-I understand paul cheated on you, I know Andrew disappeared after proposing to you, but it doesn't mean every guy is unreliable, I know you don't know him but, remember before you know someone you first don't know them-" as she continued,

My eyes felt heavy of the tears that I was trying hard to keep in. Especially when she mentioned Andrew who once promised me the world three years back when I just graduated from college. But then after he proposed to me he vanished and since then I have never seen or even heard about him.

(Jerk)

-don't allow your insecurities lead you to lose something because of nothing let it go, you're my best friend and you know I know what's best for you" she said apologetically.

(She's right though)

I sat there gazing at my best friend being preachy as Always, but nothing except for encouraging words. All I was doing was just stare with nothing to say, after all, she was right.

I was insecure especially after what I had been through in all my past relationships, I always gave them a chance but they never worked out, but always ended the same way, NO HAPPY EVER AFTER.

Which led to being vulnerable and uncertain. Somehow I lost hope.

(would I ever be happy again, will I meet my Mr. Right, is my soul mate out there, is the father of my future kids out there searching, will he found me, is John the one, maybe Zoe is right I should give him a chance and stop with negative thoughts)

"And you know I will never give you bad advice. I love you" she again said I nodded. she stood up from her chair opposite mine, to come and give me a friendly warm hug, I squeezed her in my arms.

(I need it)

Wiping one teardrop that escaped my eye without my concern behind Zoe's back as I was still holding on the hug.

"You'll be alright" she murmured after letting me off her arms, "thank you Zoe, you're the best" I playfully punched her shoulder with my not so strong fist trying to get it together.

(I need to get myself together)

"Oh! My coffee is cold, excuse me!" She called out to the waitress who assisted us earlier when we came in half an hour ago to our usual coffee shop. that was our favorite spot for girl talks.

"Mine too" I chuckled looking at her as she was trying to blame it on me "who was a preacher here" I mocked then she throws a hand as she twirled her head to the waitress who was already in our table taking our coffee cups with her. TO WARM THEM UP.

"I'm sorry I didn't call you earlier, I was held up with some paperwork to do in the office-" John explained over the phone on my ear.

When I woke up the following day which was Sunday, I waited and continue waiting for John to call me but he didn't. That alone was suspicious to me, Then when I had given up he then called me, At night.

"Let's start with, what happened to you last night? then to, why didn't you call me today? then too, why was your phone off after you left me hanging last night?" I interrogated.
