********"I thought you wouldn't come sis!" screamed my younger sister Oliver as she came running to give me a hug after I had entered the room.
"Of course liver. I wouldn't miss your big day, happy birthday! you look nice. I like the dress" I said with a smile after letting go from the hug.
She was happy.
I remember how excited I was when I turned 21 knowing that I was now allowed to do anything I wanted and make my own decisions and choices without my parents intruding.
You know that feeling
And that was how Oliver was feeling, "but where's John and Zoe" she asked as we were heading to the kitchen where we found my mother cooking.
The feeling of being home was just amazing, seeing my sister and parents. Walking around the house was always bringing back memories, GOOD AND HAPPY memories.
Memories of when I was still a toddler, playing around the house, memories of being a teenager sneaking out at night to go out with friends, but the sneaking was always Zoe's idea.
(I laugh at the thought)
"They will come" I quickly answered before I gaped with a big smile on my face going pass Oliver to give my mom a big hug. It felt like it was ages since I last saw her but it was only three months when I last saw her on own her birthday.
We had that mom and daughter moment before I was interrupted by my phone, buzzing inside the handbag that I had already placed on the kitchen island when I was giving my mom a happy hug.
I opened my handbag and reached to get the device, "babe, How far are you guys?" I asked John who was on the line.
Three of them were coming with John's car since Nick bumped his car two days back and Zoe couldn't bring her's because her younger brother borrowed it for some event he had to go to.
"We are coming! we lost our way but we are heading to your house now" he mentioned, "lost your way?" I exclaimed with my eyes widen.
I was not understanding the "lost our way" statement, because Zoe knew my parent's house besides we both grew up in the very neighborhood.
"Babe we mistakenly took a wrong turn but we're fine now, We will be there soon love you" John explained after I replied then we hanged out.
The feeling of him coming to meet my parents was overwhelming, both my parents and sister had heard me talking about him over the phone sometimes but they never met him until that day on Oliver's 21st birthday.
(I'm excited)
I put my phone back and went straight to my mom's brownies which were on top of the cabinet. "Where's a dad," I asked with my mouth full of the sweet brownies as I was scouring my eyes around trying to figure out where my dad was.
"I'm here sweety" behind me I heard my dad's husky manly voice, I swiftly put down one brownie that I was about to shove in my mouth before dad entered the room unnoticed.
I was daddies baby, even when Oliver was born I was still daddies baby. In fact, I felt like I was the favorite I don't know but I just felt.
"Daddy!" I shouted as he opened his arms to hug me "sweety you alright?" He asked still holding me on his strong arms. "Yes, daddy" I answered with my baby girl voice.
My dad had that tendency to scanning my whole body every time when I came to visit them. And when I asked him he usually says "I want to see how much you had grown" and I would just giggle then tell him my age, then he would laugh out loud and say "but that doesn't change you being my little girl".
