I walked out of the doors when the bell rang, Freddy following me like a lost puppy. "Y/n, you're still coming over, right?" I smiled, "Duh, why wouldn't I?" He nervously shrugged and looked down, "I don't know." I smiled and ruffled his hair, "Of course, I'm going to come over! You're my best friend. I love hanging out with you!" He smiled at me and we continued walking.

"I'll be back over soon, just gotta grab some stuff at home!" I leave my backpack and stuff at their house after walking them home, and run down the driveway, jogging down the sidewalk. I jogged for about a block, then walked the other block, and finally made it home.

"Mom, I'm spending the night at Mary's again!" I called. She slurred from the kitchen, "No nassy stuff with... them boys! Ya' hear?!" "Yes, ma'am! I would never!" I ran to my room and dug around. I packed a couple extra under stuff, my school clothes for tomorrow, my skateboard, and some cool stuff to show the new kid. I didn't really have any cool superhero stuff, but I had knowledge about it. I hummed as I packed my sketchbook, some pencils, and other necessities, such as phone charger. I already had extra hygiene type stuff at the Vasquez's house; toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant, even my own shampoo and body wash, because I didn't want to use theirs if I had to shower over there. Heck, even pads, in case it ever was needed. I threw the little bag over my shoulder and bounced out of the door, humming a bit. I put my earbuds that were in my pocket in and walked back down the two blocks, listening to one of Freddy and I's favourite songs, Thunderstruck. I was very surprised when I learned that Freddy liked rock music instead of something indie-like.

I suddenly fell right on my butt, huffing and grabbing my head. My phone and earbuds flew across from me onto the ground, and my head spun. I saw another vision. This time, it was a man in a red suit, his face... I couldn't see it well. The same man was there, his face was blurred just like last time as well, but the glowing eye was still visible. They were fighting, going from building to building, screwing up the entire town. I gasped for air once it was over, and held my head, managing to get my stuff together. I decided to get my skateboard out of my bag, and skate the rest of the way. I grabbed my phone and earbuds off the ground, and skated towards the Vazquez's.

I skated up to the driveway and popped the board up, grabbing it and walking up to the door. I noticed the van was gone, and checked my phone. Five on the dot. I rang the doorbell and Mary opened the door, smiling widely at me. "Hey, y/n! I'm expecting a phone call from the college tonight! Any advice?" She waved her hand for me to come in. I took my shoes off at the door, and propped my skateboard up against them. "Hmm.." I adjusted the collar of my f/c sweater, "Make sure they can tell you're smiling through the phone, be very professional, and make sure you state proudly what your dream department is." I smiled. She smiled back, "Thanks, y/n. Freddy's in his room. Did he tell you we're getting a new sibling?" I nodded, "Yeah, he's extremely excited." She laughed and walked me to the stairs, crossing her arms. "He hasn't stopped talking about it, so I figured. Have fun up there!" "Alright, good luck with your college phone interview!" "Thanks, doll!" She wandered off to the kitchen as I made my way up the stairs, purposefully skipping the bottom step on the second small flight. It annoyed me, the way it creaked, so I just avoided it entirely. I hopped up to the second floor, pulling the bag over my shoulder more, and simply opened the door. Freddy was at his desk when I opened it, his head snapping towards me. His expression went from neutral and content, to giddy and happy; a big goofy smile spreading across his lips. "Hey, y/n." I sat my bag on the bed, humming and leaning over to see what he was doing. I saw doodles of super hero logos, some known and some that he definitely made up. I also noticed his phone sat on the desk. "What-" I squinted and read on the screen that showed the source was an Instagram account called 'randomfactsig', or something like that. "DID YOU KNOW; ROMANS USED TO USE THEIR URINE TO BRUSH THEIR TEETH" "Freddy, what in the actual hell-" "I don't know, I was on the little search page and this popped up!" He awkwardly shrugged. "I got bored. Also, I designed you some superhero things. Look!" He flipped a page in the notebook, showing doodles all over the page. The first doodle was a Superman type diamond shape with a V in the middle of it, the next doodle being almost similar, except it was more of weird hexagon shape with a V in it. "What's the V stand for?" I raised an eyebrow. "I thought maybe your superhero name could be Vision." "That superhero name is already taken, isn't it?" "Shoot... yeah, it is.. uhhh... well, what about Lady See-All?" "God, no." "Third-Eye Woman?" "Definitely not." "Big Brain Betty?" "You seriously suck at this, you know?" I laughed at him, earning a frustrated huff in return. "You do better, then!" "Well, considering my only powers for now are Visions and Telepathy, it doesn't make me a superhero. "Miss Meteorite!" "No." He pouted at me. "Can we go out later and test your powers? See if you have more?" I hummed a bit, "We can go before Rosa and Victor get back with the new kid." "That works! They aren't supposed to be back until 8:30 or 9! They have to fill out a bunch of paperwork." I nodded, "We've got three hours, let's go."

"Okay, since you so far have visions and telepathy, and those two are mind based, maybe... try mind powers?" "What other mind powers are there?" He held up fingers as he listed them off. "Telekinesis; moving things with your mind. Mind control. Maybe you could do some other stuff. We'll test super-strength and such too!" I nodded. "Okay! Test one, Telekinesis." He sat a book on the ground. "Try moving that without touching it physically." I nodded. I sat down and stared at the book for a moment, long and hard. Maybe it worked the same as reading minds. I found out I could read minds after staring at Freddy like that playfully when I read his mind. I never told him it was my first experience, he thinks I just focused on my mom and read her mind, but I know he thinks I'm cute. I don't know, though, is if that was a platonic statement or something else. I returned my focus to the book after trailing off, staring and focusing. "I can't do it." I sighed after a moment. He frowned, "We'll keep practicing. You never know until you practice, practice, practice! Moving on to the next test. Mind control. Try forcing me to do something with your mind." "How do I do that?" "You know, like reading minds, but like... forcefully." I gave him a confused look before shrugging it off. I stared at him dead in the eyes and focused hard. I decided to see if physical speaking could help, too. Once I knew I was in his mind, I mumbled out, "Hug me." He looked dazed and limped forward, wrapping me in a loose hug. I widened my eyes and let go of my focus on his mind. He became limp, before tensing up again. "Woah, I-I didn't fake that." "I actually did that?" He backed up from me and smiled widely, "Yeah! I think so! It felt weird... don't do that to me ever again." I giggled and nodded.

"Next! Super-strength. Try crushing this jar with your bare hands." I stared hesitantly and pushed on the jar on opposite ends, failing the task. "Definitely no super-strength." I nod in agreement. "Super-speed?" I hum a bit and focus, running down the alley as fast as I can. "No super speed! Come back!" I ran back down, and we both laughed a bit. I looked at my phone and walked back to him, "It's 6:40." He looked over my shoulder, "Dang, already?" "Mhm! It's getting dark, want to go get some food? On me. I got my wallet in my bag." He smiled, "Let's get some shakes!"

I hummed as we walked down the sidewalk back home, some McDonald's shakes in hand. I handed Freddy my half-empty shake, and pulled my skateboard from my bag. "Gonna practice my flips and stuff." He nodded, holding both shakes in one arm, limping along with the other. I sat my board down on the flat sidewalk, put one foot on, and slightly skated ahead. I leaned back, jumped up, and tried flipping the board. I successfully landed it and Freddy ended up gaining some speed on me. "Woah, that's so cool! I love when you do tricks." He smiled, watching me. I giggled and skated ever so slightly forward, jumping up and attempting another flip, landing it luckily. I got cocky and tried one more, but this time it turned sour. The board landed sideways, my foot making impact with the side. My ankle twisted into a weird fashion as I fell down, catching myself with my hands and knees. I groaned a bit, seeing my leggings from earlier ripped now, stained with blood. Luckily, my hands and fingerless gloves were safe. I groaned and sat up. "Oh, my God, y/n! Are you okay?" He sat the shakes on the sidewalk and held his hand up. I looked up, wiping my tears off, then wiping the blood off my knees. "I-I'm okay... I-I.." His eyes widened, "Holy crap!" I furrowed my eyebrows, "Wh-what?" "Look at your knee! It just.." I looked down and noticed the scrape was gone. "What...?" I looked at my hands. Freddy thought over it for a moment, then wiped a tear out of my eye and wiped it onto my other knee. We watched in silence for a moment, then the skin began shifting. "Holy-" "Woah!" Freddy and I exclaimed as my knee warped and healed itself. "Your tears... I think they can heal!" I sniffed and stared up at him, "That's cool."

I washed the excess blood off my knees with snow, and fixed the leggings to where it looked like they were made to look ripped. Once we got back to the house, we threw the empty shake cups away to hide the fact I forgot to buy the others some shakes. We went inside and ran up to Freddy's room and hung out in there for a bit, talking about superhero stuff. Then I decided to get the guts to tell him about my vision. "Freddy," "Yeah, y/n?" "I've had a couple... bad visions." "How bad?" "Very bad."
