I gasped, backing up and hitting my head on the shower handle. I fell right on my butt and wheezed, holding my head. It all came in so suddenly, like a wave."I came here during the season of giving to give you..... what you deserve." I saw smoke fly out of a strange man, attacking the people in the conference room. The monsters... they were large, rugged looking, their skin looked rough. Some were larger than others. One had large wings. They ripped the people in the conference room to shreds, one ate a man's head. It was horrifying. "This is power. More than you ever had. More than anyone has." "There is one more powerful." The man looked over in slight shock. "The wizard found his champion." "Kill the champion, before he learns his true potential." "Show me where to find him. Oh, and Greed. You can have him." The man in the wheelchair yelled as his fate was finalized, being torn to shreds by the four-armed demon. His face was blurry, so I couldn't have a way to find out who it was, but there was a glowing blue eye on his face, it radiated evil. Even in my vision.
"Y/n, you alright hon?" My mom entered the bathroom. I looked up as the water fell on my face. "Y-Yeah! Just.. just got dizzy. I'm fine, I'll be fine." She sighed, "Okay. We really need to see a doctor about your dizziness and headaches." "No, Mom, I don't need it. I'm fine, they're not that bad." She exited the room quietly. I finished up my shower, dried off, and went to my room in my robe.
I picked out a nice outfit for today. A cozy f/c, thick sweater, my signature fingerless (second)f/c gloves, a jacket around my legging-covered waist, and my brothers' old combat boots. My brother was an awesome person, was being the key word. He passed away a few years ago due to bone cancer in his leg. People usually bully me about it at school, but the only thing keeping me sane through it all was my best friend; Freddy Freeman. He was a foster kid, yeah, which probably sucked more than losing just a brother, losing both of your parents, but we kept each other calm when bullied about our losses. Plus, he was the only one I trusted knowing about my powers. I still remember our first conversation about it.
"So basically, you were home alone one day, and went outside at night, found a glowing.... rock thing, and grabbed it? And you passed out?" I nodded. "It looked like a meteorite or something, so I grabbed it with the intention of keeping it. Though as soon as I touched it, my head felt like it was bursting, and I passed out from the pain. Then my hand looked like this." I held my usually covered hand, uncovered now, to show a burn-mark like pattern. Except it had a faintly glowing tint to it. "It glows in the dark. I always wear gloves or bandages around my hands to hide it. Not even my mom knows about it." He stared at it in awe. "It looks like the rock is in your hand!" "I know.. I think it might be, because I couldn't find it when I woke up and remembered it." He giggled in disbelief, studying my hand. "This is so cool. So what did you say you experienced with it?" "I-I see... I can see some stuff before it happens. Like, remember that time Brett came up behind that kid who used to sit at our table and shoved his face in his tray? Yeah, I saw it the morning it happened." "Woah! That sounds like a super power! Y'know, like, visions?" I nodded. "There's... one more thing I can do, too..." He looked excited at this. "What? What is it?!" I stared at him for a good minute, focusing all my mind onto him. Slowly, but surely, I could hear his voice faintly in my head. 'Weirdo.. why's she staring at me? She looks like she's pooping...' I released the focus I had built up, and huffed. "Wow, thanks for the compliment Freddy." "Huh?" "'She looks like she's pooping.'" I mocked him in a sassy, high-pitched tone. He burst out laughing at this, then guilt mixed with the hilarity. "I'm sorry... haha... but that's-that's awesome!! You can read minds?" I nodded. "It takes a lot of focus, but it's pretty cool. I can finally learn what people really think of me, and with time I'll be able to do it almost instantly! Instead of having to focus entirely on it." He smiled and nodded excitedly. "My best friend has super powers, awesome!"
I hummed a bit as I walked to school, going to my meet-up spot with the foster family. I usually walked with them, they invited me when Freddy and I first became friends to join them. I enjoy walking with them, though. I enjoy spending time with them in general. I love playing video games with Eugene, working out with Pedro, tea parties with Darla, and gossiping with Mary. Though I definitely love every activity on earth with Freddy with most. He has been there for me since day one. Once I get to them, Freddy holds his free hand up to me. We do a little special handshake; fist bump, firm handshake, thumb wrestle, I win, wavy fingers, and the end is putting our finger and thumb together in a circle and conjoining it. I added that to the handshake because it means "friends" in sign language. Once we let go of the conjoined link, we hugged. "Hi y/n!! How'd you sleep?" Darla smiled up at me happily. "I slept good! How about you?" She giggled and grabbed onto one of my hands. "I slept good!" I patted her head and wrapped an arm playfully around Freddy as we walked to school.
I hummed, tapping my pencil against the desk. Biology is so boring. I felt a paper ball hit my head when the teacher's back was turned. I glanced over at Freddy, two seats away and one seat in front. He smiled and shot a thumbs up, before turning back to the board. I grabbed the wad and opened it discretely, reading his messy hand writing. "Rosa and Victor decided yesterday they were going to add another family member today. Wanna come over for dinner and maybe spend the night to meet him? Maybe we can have a trio! Of course, he won't be as cool as you, though." I smiled and wrote down my reply. "Sure! My mom won't mind at all. Of course he won't be as cool as me. I'm as cool as cool can get. My stuff still at your place under your bed?" Once the teacher turned around to write on the board, I whapped Freddy right in the back of the head with the wad. He quickly bent over and picked it up. I could see the boy nod and quickly scribble down his reply. I grabbed a small notebook and started doodling patterns here and there, not paying attention to the lesson at all. Eventually, I got smacked in the forehead by the wad, and it fell right on my doodle. I quickly opened the paper and read to myself, "Yeah, all you need is there. Why don't you just talk to me through your telepathy? It'd be so much easier than this." I stared at Freddy for a good moment, before pushing the thought into his mind. "Don't write that stuff down, now I have to burn the paper. And you're the one who tossed the note first, not me." I kept focusing on him until I could hear his reply. "Well I wanted to know if we could ha-" "Mrs L/n!" I lost focus on him and missed the rest of his reply as I looked at Mr. Nell. "Pay attention." I nodded sheepishly and started jotting down bits and pieces of the lesson.
