INNOCENT

Chapter VIII

"So what should we buy for your father?" Asked Kyle, we were walking down a road that lead to our homes.

Everest stopped walking, placing a finger on her lips, her eyes looking towards the sky. Knowing her well she was thinking really hard about it.

"That's a good question." Spoke Everest she shifted her gaze down to the ground. I looked at Daniel who also seemed to be lost in thought, then to Drake and Jason they too seem to try to come up with something. I on the other hand knew what to get, me and Everest had already caught eye on a gift in a boutiqe near our home.

"I know how about a sweater!" Exclaimed Daniel snapping his fingers.

"Or how about a watch?" Suggested Drake.

"Maybe we can give him a bottle of cologne?" Spoke Kyle shrugging to the idea.

"Why won't you guys just buy all of them." Jason threw his hands in the air.

"But that'll be alot of money we'll be spending." Replied my sister as she stared at him.

"Oh if money is the problem, don't worry about it I can cover the rest that you guys can't." Smiled proudly Daniel while pointing his thumb at himself.

"Your sure your okay with that?" I asked I don't want my best friend to go thru all this trouble.

"Of course man I don't mind. I'm actually grateful, if it weren't for him to have planned the family reunion I wouldn't have been friends with all of yah." Smiled brightly the dark hair male.

"Well then if Daniel doesn't mind it's settled then." Cheered my sister as she swung an arm around his neck.

We continued walking down the road just before making to the crossing of where four streets intersected in different directions, Daniel and Drake stopped dead in their tracks.

We too stopped, turning around seeing a wierd expression shone on their faces.

"Daniel? Drake? Is everything alright?" Asked my sister worryingly, their expressions began to contort wierdly, right off the bat something told me that someone was mind linking them.

In that instant my phone rang, quickly I fetched it out of my pockets as I answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Areo where are you?" Said my mother that sounded afraid on the other end of the line.

"We're at the crossing right now why?" I responded as I was begining to feel something wasn't right.

"Where's your sister?" She then asked.

"Right here, with Daniel, Kyle, Drake and Jason."

"Dear God you kids need to get home fast." She said quickly her voice began to sound much more nervous.

"Mom what's going on?"

"Get here fast there's a rouge attack!" She yelled at the other line, after hearing the word rouge I felt like everything had stopped my eyes widen in fear, cold sweat began to form around my forehead. Rouge attack? Now? I heard a bang from the other end of the phone call, I heard my fathers voice as him and my mom were saying something that I couldn't quite understand.

"Kids get home now!" She shouted this time she sounded terrified.

"Everest! Guys! We need to get home now there's a Rouge attack!" I yelled as Daniel and Drake snapped out of their mind, everyone else stared at me wide eye.

"Is this true Areo?" Asked worringly Kyle his eyes shone fear.

"Yes I just got contacted our side of the neighborhood is already being attacked and they need me asap. They also told me to tell you guys too" Spoke Daniel while the six of us began to run to our respective homes.
