Kokichi's POV

"What do you mean?" Shuichi asked me over Kiibos shoulder. "To induce the ultimate despair! To take somebody's talent and give it to somebody else! I did it! It is my fault!" I yelled.
Kiibos grip on me tightened almost enough to leave a bruise. "I tried my best to make it comfortable for him and the other, B-but they... didn't make it. I have to make up for the fact that I was being to careless and rushing to not get shot!" I yelled after.
"It's okay you were forced to weren't you" Kiibo said starting to rub my back. I nodded in his shoulder. I felt horrible about it. I killed somebody. I felt something prick my neck and gasped. Kiibo held my head in place though.
I suddenly felt tired. "Shh... just go to sleep your okay I've got you" Kiibo whispered to me as I slipped back into the dark abyss of sleep.

Kiibos POV

I definitely didn't like the idea of putting him to sleep forcefully, but we had to he was panicking and might have injured himself or somebody else if we hadn't.
Once he relaxed and went limp I picked him up. I was walking to the room they told us was ours yesterday and laid down putting kokichi on top of me.
I was really upset about the fact that Junko made him do such a horrible thing. But I'm also glad he did or else he would be dead.
I got up to grab a book knowing he would be out for a while. I covered him with the thick comforter, grabbed the keys, and left. I quickly grabbed a book in the library and when I was walking back I ran into Naegi. "What are you doing out of bed your sick?!" I screeched he laughed.
"The sickness lightened up when I woke up so I wanted to look around while I had the chance" he responded. I sighed "well be careful" I stated and he nodded.
We said our goodbyes and I walked the short walk back to the room. When I opened the door I barely had time to think. As kokichi had fallen out of the bed somehow. "What?! How?! I left you in the middle of the bed! How did you manage to fall?!" I stuttered out surprised.
After I got him back into bed and on my chest again I started to read. It was a book about trauma. I didn't know a lot about trauma for humans so I want to do some research.

It was interesting and after 3 hours I read it cover to cover and felt kokichi start to stir. I was a little confused as the sedative we gave him lasted for 8 hours.
He looked up at me with tired eyes. I lightly rubbed his cheek "go back to sleep..." I whispered. He nodded and snuggled into me. Until he slipped off me and onto the bed.
I chuckled at his surprised face and kissed his forehead. I pulled him up onto my chest and smiled when he went limp again. I decided to sleep this time and turn on my heater cause it gets colder in the night cycle.
I also pulled the comforter over his head to keep the warmth in.

When I woke up it was obviously late. What woke me up was kokichi whimpering. He was sweating on my chest his cheeks and nose a bright pink color.
I put my hand on his forehead he must have been really hot and as he sighed when my cold hand met his skin. He was practically boiling.
I turned off my heating system and started the cooling one. Kokichi sighed and went back to sleeping peacefully. I grumbled 'guess I will just have to deal with it instead of him overheating' I thought.

I got up the next morning to kokichi not wearing a shirt and clinging to me. I pulled a shirt on him and pulled him onto my back. He nuzzles into my neck causing me to blush.
I walked to his medical lab. Mikan was there with Naegi. When I entered she ran over and put a hand on Kokichi's forehead. She gasped and told me to lay him down.
I did as told and she started to look for symptoms of the sickness Naegi had. She grumbled at the end. "Just as I thought" she started "despair disease is making its mark again" ending that I was concerned.
"Please don't leave Kiibo you have been exposed to the disease and you can't risk it" Mikan warned. I nodded and sat down next to him.
I put my hand on Kokichi's forehead and he relaxed at the coolness. I barely noticed that himiko was moved out of here. Everything had been so hectic.
I grumbled at the fact that he is sick and it's something Mikan can barely help with.

It had been three days since kokichi had gotten sick and everyone was trying to keep spirits up. Angie has said it was a message from Atua, and that if kokichi and Naegi were happy they would get better. It surprisingly worked somewhat.
It was almost laughable at the fact that we learned the victim and everyone's mood had some effect on the second new and improved despair disease.

After about two weeks we were all glad that the sickness was either gone or almost anything there, but if it came back now we know how to get rid of it. Kokichi was supposed to leave with Naegi this morning, but he was leaving this afternoon after we found something.
Something that he was unlucky enough to have. Something that would change his life forever.
The sickness had destroyed most of his nerves and muscles in his legs. He would have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life unless he got better. It was a 50/50 shot and we all were going to take it.
