Few months later... (big oof lol)

Pam woke up in mental pain. The last few months has been awful for her. Angela suddenly shut off from her, being mean and excluding her from the Party Planning Committee, while boasting about this Senator person... what was up with that? She kept thinking about that night in the conference room. She was full of regrets of not saying "I like you... please stay a little longer." because maybe that's why she's gone. Or maybe it was her reputation. Besides from all of the various reasons she could think of, it still ached. She didn't have anything physical left of her, only memories. She just wanted one of her friends back.

Jim, her other friend was also in a bad spot. He was now dating Karen, and didn't have too much time for her, and when he did, Karen would shut it down. Pam only wanted to be his friend... at least Angela was as rude to Karen as Pam.

Pamela rolled off of her bed and did the boring routine. It was a bit sloppier than usual, but at least she got out of her apartment. Her hair was out as she wanted, but it was messier than usual.

Angela had recently gotten engaged to senator Lipton. Who was that? The man she met at the Hay festival. They went out on a few dates and Angela was deeply interested in his government job. It was already going just great, Angela had sold her house to live in his luxurious one, and the Angela was now Lady Angela, and accompanied the Senator to his gatherings and events. Only issue was that one of her cats triggered his allergies so she had to give them away. Pam was going to take care of the cat, but Oscar jumped in and took the offer for some reason. Actually, Oscar was acting very weird around Angela.

Beesly grimaced as Angela came up to her desk.
"Pam."
"Yes."
"You are invited to the Party Planning Committee along with Karen, Oscar and Kelly. We meet at lunch break." Angela already left before Pam could thank her. She was terrified, but also hopeful. Maybe she could make amends. Pam went back to intense scribbling. There was a crude drawing of Angela, done in about a minute, and it was all scribbled over. It was lunch break in 15 minutes. Pam swore quietly and almost tore the page.

"Welcome, ladies, and Oscar. We have a Christmas party to plan. Any themes we could try?" Angela stood tall (for a shortie anyways oof), and confidently above the other members, staring down. The PPC was her kingdom.

"Renaissance Christmas?" Oscar suggested.
"Maybe. Do we have the budget for it though? And please no stupid nudity statues."

"... wine testing Christmas?"
"Who even invited you here Meredith?"

"Christmas is lame, like I guess we could pimp it up or something."
Angela simply sighed and moved on from Kelly's response.

"Maybe a fun games Christmas... with vodka and party games?" Karen said, with Meredith and Kelly nodding.
"Ugh." Angela threw up her hands. "You're all so useless! What about you, Pam? Oscar, I can get back to you. Phyllis, don't even try."

"Well... I-... I'm going to head out, I'm not ready for this." Pam jogged out, and went to the bathroom.
"Come on! That's it. It's nutcracker Christmas this year. Any budget proposals? Donations? Food?"

Pam burst through the women's room door, and curled up on the couch. Being around Angela was too overwhelming, and the way she was so mean got to her. She just wanted some closure at least, or some warmth. Everything was going wrong and she was just too lonely. After 15 minutes of sobbing, she simply stared up into the ceiling, empty. She drifted off into space, then dozed off.

"Hey, Pam. I'm sorry to interrupt, but are you okay?"
"K-Karen...! Oh... yeah I'm alright. The PPC gets a little overwhelming at times, you know."
"Mhm. If you don't want to be stuck with Angela, I'm going to set up a party with my ideas. Wanna join?"
"Sounds fun! I'll give it a try."
"Nice. I'll set up a poster on MSpaint. Also, would you like any beverages... Just to make sure you're all good."
"If it's okay... yes please. I'll come with you."
"Of course it's okay!"

Pam stood up and walked with Karen to the kitchen, where they both made tea for themselves.
"A lot been happening?" Karen asked.
"Yeah... it's not that bad but it feels like it."
"I feel you. Me and Jim have been weird. We used to talk so much and now he seems distracted a lot."
"Oh! Me and someone else been funny too... he just ignores me and we kissed and-"
"It isn't Jim though, is it?"
"No, no... in fact it's really a she but please don't spill that..." Pamela was fiddling a lot, thinking her own explanation sounded idiotic.
"It's fine, Pam. Uh, I dated a few girls too. If you need anything I'll be here. And that Oscar guy too, I guess." Karen placed a tanned hand on Pam's shoulder and hugged her. Pam felt weird but went with it. She was relieved that Karen didn't hate her.
"Karen... thank you... but also please remember Jim is still my friend. He's one of my only friends... and I don't want to take him away from you at all, but please don't think anything fishy."
Karen giggled "Now you have one more friend; me. It's cool, especially if you like cheesy third wheel dates."
Pam joined in on the laughing, "I don't mind, heh." Pam was used to being the 100th wheel, so 3rd wasn't too bad.

"Let's get started on this party." Pam beckoned Karen to come with her. Surprisingly, things were now looking up. However, Pam was still curious about Angela.
