Chapter 17: I'm so proud of you Emy!
I ended up at Charissa's house.
Why did I come here?
I walked to the front door and knocked once...twice...thrice. Just as I was about to leave I heard shuffling around. The door unlocked and a figure stood in front of me. "Oh it's you. What do you want you little shit?" I gave her a smile. "Can't I see if the basturd who cursed me by being such a slut is still alive?" She leaned against the doorframe and inhaled her cigarette deeply and puffed it in my face. I sighed heavily. "Can I atleast come in?" She moved aside and I walked in. "Emilie why are you here? I thought you were staying with Nicolas?" I sat on the chair opposite Charissa. "I am, but I just had to get out of there. The twins are a hand full." I chuckled softly looking at Charissa. "He has kids?" Her tone sounded genuinely sad. "Yeah. A boy and a girl. They're just the cutest." I cooed thinking about them. Her expression was something I've never seen before, it was pain. "Are you okay Charissa?" I looked at her concerned. Is she drunk or something? "I ruined his childhood, I ruined your childhood. I feel the guilt eating away at me everyday. I-I-I'm sorry. I know that I can never change what I've done and you might not forgive me but I just needed to tell you that, because I'm dying. My kidneys are failing and I don't have enough money to get an organ transplant and honestly I don't want one." I looked at her in confusion. "I deserve it. I really don't care what happens to me anymore, all I wanna let you and your brother know that I'm sorry." I walked over to her and hugged her. "Honestly I really came to apologise too. Nick still misses you, the old you. His mom." A tear escaped from her eyes and she hugged me back. "Thank you. Please let Nick know that I'm sorry that I wasn't the mother he deserved." We parted and I nodded. "I'll come around again soon." She smiled and let me out.I walked back home and I ended passing by the Ivy's home. I smiled brightly and went to go visit them. I knocked on the door and Mrs. Ivy popped her head out. "Oh Hello Emilie! It's been a long time since I've seen you. What brings you here?" I smiled brightly and I hugged her, taking her surprise. She hugged me back and rubbed my back. "I just wanted to see you again. I really missed you Mrs. Ivy. But how are you doing?" She smiled brightly and I was happy to see that smile again. "Come inside and I'll show you." She lead my into the house and I looked around curiously. "Rose! Spencer! Becky! Jake! Could you please come here!" I saw four kids running down the stairs. Two boys and two girls. "I've decided to become a foster mother. After losing Rylie I felt like I lost a piece of my heart but then Rosie here came selling cookies and I found out she doesn't have a family. It broke my heart and I took her in. She refused to leave her foster care without these three and I ended taking them all. Becky is the eldest, then it's Jake, Spencer and then little Rosie." I smiled and greeted them. "I'm happy for you and hey on the plus side you got that daughter you always wanted." She smiled and cupped my cheek with a gentle hand. "You're still my daughter to Emilie. Remember what I told you, you're still my daughter no matter what. Even though Rylie's gone, I'll still love you and I'll love them too." They all hugged her. "Well I better get going. I kinda ran away from Nick this morning." I admitted guiltily and scratched the back of my neck. "Ok. Please don't hesitate to visit any time. This is still your home too."
I reached the house and I heard laughing and the twins adorable giggles.
I walked in and I was tackled to the ground. "Emy! I missed you~!" I tried pushing Nick off me and I failed miserably. "Emy where did you disappear to? I was so worried!" He fake sobbed and I smelt a familiar scent. Liquor. "Are you drunk?" I asked in an exasperated tone. He got up and leaned on the wall. "Tipsy technically now answer my question young lady." I laughed at him and the others joined in. "I went for a walk and I visited a few people. Including Charissa." Avary choked on air and Haygen stopped laughing while Nick just stared at me. "Why?" He was looking at his hands now and Avary was next to him rubbing his back. "I mean yeah she's a bitch but she's still a person and I was surprised to actually see her sober. She apologised for everything and she wanted me to let you know that you deserved a better mom. I couldn't understand why she was apologising until she told me that she was dying." He looked at me and he seemed so pained. "I know how you're feeling. She was the best mom ever till we were both seven. I know that you might hate her but she's truely sorry for everything and I could see it in her eyes and see that she was hurting." Nick was speechless. Avary looked confused and Haygen looked at me with concern. "What about everything she's done. She ruined my life, destroyed my family. My father has never been the same. I can't just forgive her." I walked over to him and engulfed him in a hug. "I know Nicki. Just remember that she's not going to live much longer. But enough of this depressing topic let's move on to why you damn body slammed me?!" He started laughing and Avary's face softened but Haygen was still processing all the it. "Because I wanted to make sure you couldn't get away once my interrogation starts." He smirked and I gulped. "So what happened last night?" He looked me in the eye and I broke a sweat. "MeandHaygenhadsexlastnightbutwedidntuseprotectionbuthepulledoutintimepleasedontkillme." Nick started laughing and so did Avary. "I'm not going to kill you, I'm proud of you Emy and you Haygen." I looked at him wide eyed and Haygen looked at the ground. "What don't I know?" Avary and I asked together and Nick chuckled nervously. "Well I kinda told him that he was allowed to have sex with you." I almost fainted.
