"Emma!" I hear someone scream my name.
"What?" I scream back, not even bothering to turn around to see who it was that screamed my name.
"Stop walking!"
I just stopped. Didn't even turn around, and waited for the person to walk up to me and show who they are.
Oh, it was just Ashton.
"Hey." He panted, like he was out of breath from chasing me.
"Hi."
"Where are you going?" he asks. Um, the same place I go everyday? The bus.
"The bus. Why?"
"Well, I finally got a car, so do you want me to drive you home?"
Memories of that night came back into my mind. The blood. The police. The ambulances. The bodies.
I cannot ride in a car. You might be wondering. How the hell does she ride the bus than? Well to answer that question, I've been riding on the same bus for a while now and I am very close with the bus driver, so I've become very comfortable on the bus. She makes sure I stay calm and I feel safe, so I don't have to worry about being on the bus with her, but I still refuse to get in a car, even if it is with the bus driver. I will not do it.
"That's not a very good idea." I whisper
"Oh, why not babe? You ride the bus everyday. I figured you'd be over it by now. It happened about 4 years ago." He sighed, clearly annoyed that I won't ride in the car with him.
"Get over it?" I was not angry.
"Ashton, how the fuck do you think I could get over something that ruined my life? Something so traumatizing that I can't even fucking sleep at night!" I was shouting now and I was drawing attention to myself from the other students in the hallway.
"Stop fucking staring!" I shouted at them and they all looked away and acted like they were never there. Yeah, that's right. Run the fuck away.
"Oh, get over yourself." Ashton scoffed before walking away.
I run to the bus so that I could avoid all the stares from everyone around us.
I saw my bus and ran to it, ducking my face, hoping that the bus driver wouldn't see me crying. But it didn't work.
"Oh Em, what's wrong? What happened?" she asked in her sweet voice.
"I hate everyone." I muttered before walking past her to my seat in the very back of the bus, watching as all of the kids piled on trying to get to there seats so they could go home.
