I woke up the next morning feeling excited. I jumped in the shower and shaved before washing with my Apple scented body wash and shampoo. The hot water felt amazing on my aching muscles. That air mattress was NOT comfortable.

I sat on the floor in front of the full length mirror in the my room and put on my make up. I was naturally really pretty but I loved to play around with my look.  I decided to go with light neutral colors since we were going out during the day.

After pulling on a pair of distressed light wash high waisted shorts that showed off my long smooth legs and a pink crop top I checked myself out in the mirror. Adding a flower necklace I decided I looked good enough and went to work on my dark red hair. Because I had slept late it was already 11:30 so for lack of time I decided to just throw it in a messy bun.

Luke- Hey I'm just leaving my place. be there in 5

Me- K👍

I rushed to finish my hair then brushed my teeth and headed down the stairs to wait for him. My dad was sitting on the porch when I got outside.

"Where ya goin'?" he asked as I came through the screen door.

"I met a new friend yesterday and they're gonna show me around."

"Girl or boy?"

I giggled, "It's a boy, daddy."

"You'll be home by 9 then."

"Sure dad." I said as Luke pulled up in a huge pick up. I kissed my dad on the cheek and told him goodbye. Luke got out of his truck and came up to the porch.

He offered his hand to my dad, "Afternoon, Mr. Perkins. I'm Luke Brown. It's nice to meet you. Ashlyn, ya look real nice today." He said as he turned his attention to me and I smiled at him.

"Call me Andy. Brown? Your daddy wouldn't be Carl Brown would he?"

"Yes, sir. God rest his soul. Cancer took him when I was 6."

"I didn't know that. I'm sorry son. He was a great friend of mine growin up. That's a real shame." He said frowning, " Well, ya'll go have fun, have her home by 9 Luke, I expect you'll be a gentlemen."

"Of course, Mr. Perkins."

Luke helped me into his truck then went around to his side.

"You really do look beautiful today." He said as we pulled onto the gravel road.

"Thanks, Luke. You look nice too."

"So where ya from?"

"We live in Cleveland."

"Never been to Cleveland. Hell I've never been anywhere but here really.  That'll change soon though, I got a football scholarship to University of South Alabama in Mobile."
