Part 4 ~ Hiccups

Headcannon: The Turtles physically cannot hiccup.

I would like to say though, that I have no clue how science works so we're just gonna go with it I guess...this is why Donnie is the smart one lol

"Hic!" Was the sudden outburst heard from none other then Casey Jones. "Hic! Aw sewer apples!"

"You good bro?" Mikey asked after pausing his video game to investigate the new sound that his friend was making.

"Yeah, I just got hiccups yo." The hockey player answered, another hiccup fit following suit.

"'Hiccups'?" Mikey the turtle in orange questioned with an innocent cock of his head. "What's a 'hiccup'?"

Casey looked at his mutant friend with a disbelieving look on his messed up face. While he was trying to process what was just asked, Donnie walked into the lair. When Mikey noticed his older brother, he was by his side in a flash and bombarding him with questions.

"Hey D, whats a 'hiccup'?" Mikey wondered of his all knowledgeable brother.

"An involuntary spasm of the diaphragm and respiratory organs, with a sudden closure of the glottis and a characteristic sound like that of a cough." The tallest of the turtles rattled off without looking away from whatever he was looking at on his T-Phone.

Even with the explanation, Mikey was still confused. Mikey really didn't like it when his older brother used all these big, science-y words when talking to him.

"Can we hiccup? Cause I guess Casey can hiccup but what if he's actually dying and doesn't want us to worry about him?! Do we need to knock the hiccups out of him to save him?!" The orange clad turtle continued with his question, panic soon taking over his features as the fear-inducing thought of losing a friend festered its way into his mind.

Donnie glanced over the glasses he sometimes worn after he had been working for too long in the lab or when he stared at a screen for an extended amount of time. (A/N: I know that Donnie doesn't wear glasses in 2012 version, and you know that he doesn't, but Donnie in little nerd glasses or bluelights just feels right so sue me) After studying his brother and deciding that he didn't currently have the energy to mess with Mikey or to even explain what was happening to the hockey player he just sighed.

"Mikey, he's fine," The tallest turtle informed. "Hiccups happen to humans all the time and it's really easy to fix."

Returning his gaze to the T-Phone and typing something surprisingly fast for someone with only three fingers he turned the screen to his younger brother with a list of common ways to fix the hiccup problem that was occurring.

Mikey stared in fascination at how easy of a cure there was for Casey, who by now seemed to be turning blue from holding his breath for so long. What broke the turtle out of his spell was hearing Casey gasping for oxygen.

"Dude! Are they gone now?" Mikey wondered after rushing over to his friend and waiting to for something to happen. After a few long seconds though, nothing did happen.

The hiccups were gone! Casey was celebrating while Mikey donned a long face.

"Aww man..." The youngest turtle exclaimed almost sadly as he returned to his position on the floor to continue his long forgotten video game.

"What's the matter Mike?" Casey wondered, pausing his celebration to make sure his friend was totally fine. "You look sad."

Mikey looked back to the high schooler with a wicked grin on his green face. "I was really hoping that I could scare you! It was one of the cures for hiccups!"

"MIKEY!!" Casey exclaimed while chasing the turtle all around the lair. It was gonna be a long night for Donnie....

Honestly though I am so sorry that I just went and vanished...life happens?

This one was rather short and really rushed out so I'm sorry that it sucks actually, but I hope that it can make at least one of you smile!!

Anyway, I'm going to try and get back to this cause I really did enjoy writing and it was a great way to escape from school (which I'm in college now and I actually need the escape lol)

I don't promise any set schedule though, cause like I said school comes first and I have a job and a car that I need to pay off :')

Just pray for me...
