Chapter 2

(After an hour)

"Ok guys that's all for today" Umi said

Umi noticed the flush face of Kotori so she approach her

"Kotori?" Umi called Kotori

Kotori who is busy thinking and doing something didn't hear Umi

"Kotori!" Umi called her again then taps her shoulder that surprises Kotori which made her to blush to see Umi behind her

"Whaaaー U-Umi-chan? W−what is it? Is there something wrong?" she asks her while averting her gaze from Umi

"A-ah... I was just checking on you. Your face is kinda red. Do you have a fever?" Umi asks worriedly

"N-no! I don't have a fever" she said defensively still averting her gaze

"O...k If you say so" she just agreed to Kotori though she's still worried about her

"Umi-chan! Kotori-chan! Let's go home together!" Honoka approaches them energetically

"It's ok but I still need to go to the archery range." Umi answered

"Ah yeah the competition is near! We can wait, right Kotori-chan?" Honoka asks Kotori

"A-ah! yes!" Kotori agreed

"I'll be going home first" said the red-haired girl

"Wait Maki-chan! Me too! Goobye everyone. See you tomorrow" Nico then followed Maki

"Rin and Kayo-chin too. We need to go now. bye bye nya~" said the cat-like girl

"Nozomi-chan! Eli-chan! We will go now! See you tomorrow!" Honoka said goodbye to her seniors while Umi & Kotori just bow their heads

"Ok bye!" Nozomi waved at them

When the three of them went down their classmate called Honoka

"Sorry Umi-chan. Kotori-chan. You can go ahead I'll just take care of this" Honoka said

But before Umi can say anything Honoka is already gone. That leaves Kotori & Umi in an awkward silence

"Kotori shall we go?" inquires Umi

"A-ah! Of course" Kotori responded

Umi suddenly grabs Kotori's hand which caused Kotori to be surprised and she feels her face burning up. Umi didn't noticed the inner turmoil of the other girl.

Kotori felt a bit dizzy. She almost fell but luckily Umi's there to support her

"Kotori! Are you ok? You look a bit pale" Umi asks her worriedly

'Umi-chan! You're too close!' she thought. She didn't noticed that her face is red like a tomato

"I-i'm ok! D-don't worry." she immediately fixed herself

At the range Umi started her archery practice while Kotori is in the corner far from Umi. Umi is confuse as to why Kotori is standing far from her when usually she's just inches away but she just let Kotori be, she also thinks that it's dangerous if she's near her.

There are times when Umi is glancing at Kotori. She noticed that Kotori is somewhat sad. She's not the usual cheerful Kotori. She wants to know why but she didn't know how. She's not like Honoka who is always saying what's on her mind.

"Hey Kotori! If something is bothering you, you can always talk to us." Umi glances at Kotori

Kotori just smiled at her

There it is again that sad expression. Even though Kotori's smiling she thinks Kotori has a big problem. Kotori is not good with hiding her problems. She wants to help her. She don't want that sad look on Kotori's face, she wants the cheerful Kotori back.

'I'm sorry Umi-chan! I can't tell you what's bothering me. How can I even tell my childhood bestfriend and what's more a girl that I have feelings for her? I don't want our friendship to be over. I'm ok with this situation as long as your still here beside me. I have to keep this a secret.' these are the thoughts of Kotori

After a while Kotori fell asleep and Umi noticed it so she went to her to wake her up

'Kotori is cute while she's sleeping' she thought then blush

"Wha- What am I thinking? I need to wake her up. She might catch a cold" still blushing she wake Kotori up

She noticed that Kotori is breathing irregularly, she looks pale and she's sweating a lot.
