A few hours had passed since we had left my place, and we were sitting in our tour bus. Falling in Reverse was all here, as was Andy and Ashley from Black Veil, Danny and James from Asking, and Austin and Alan from Of Mice & Men. We were all celebrating the start of Warped to kick off the summer. Everyone was drinking, minus us guys in Falling. I'm proud to say that we were the only sober band at Warped last year, and I plan on keeping it that way.
"So Andy, tell me about that raccoon hat on your head that's riding your hair." Danny said, pointing his bottle in the direction of Andy with a smirk. We all laughed, even Andy; I missed being with all of these guys, all of my best friends. Still, I missed Arielle, and I know Andy missed Serena, but we were doing what we loved most. That was supposed to make up for it, right?
Everyone was just talking about this and that, like what had happened while we were all away, and just catching up. Finally, James noted that there was no more beer left, and the rest of the guys groaned in disappointment. Everyone looked at me expectantly, considering this IS my bus, after all. "Fine, but I'm not going alone." I said as I stood, walking over to where my red jacket lay. While they decided who was going, I took a moment to glance in the mirror. My black hair was in its usual puffy style, eyeliner neat. I wore my black shirt with white jeans, and of course the red jacket. It was a little chilly outside from what I remembered, and I couldn't risk catching a cold.
After they argued like children for a few minutes, it was decided Austin would go as well. While we exited the bus and closed the door behind us, walking through the narrow passage created by other bands' buses, I walked in front of him. I was pretty stoked about Warped starting, and practically skipping with joy. I heard Austin chuckle behind me, and I turned to smile at him. I had to admit, I was somewhat envious of him. He was an all-around happy guy, and from what I could tell, didn't really have any problems with anyone. Sure, we had gotten into a disagreement and hadn't spoken for quite awhile when I was dating Crissy, but we overcame that. I just wished I could be more like him, all happy and not holding any dumb grudges or anything about things I can never go back and change.
"So, I heard you got yourself a girlfriend Radke." Austin said, his brown eyes wandering. They were a pretty shade of chocolate, a lot like Arielle's. Maybe even better? What the hell, that was a weird thought. It was because I missed her, I kept telling myself. Even though I had just seen her less than ten hours ago...
Shaking my head, I smiled. "Yep. Her name's Arielle. She's a friend of Serena's. You've met her before, right? Andy's girlfriend." even though they had been dating for over a year, I still found it weird to know my little sister was dating Andy Biersack.
I stopped after a moment, looking around. The realization hit me, and I had no fucking idea where we were headed. Austin continued walking, so I followed him, trying to play that off like the idiot I didn't want him to think I was. "Yeah, I've met her. Nice girl." he smiled, and walked out of the parking lot, heading down the street. It was pretty empty tonight, being a Thursday at one in the morning.
"You got yourself a girlfriend yet?"
"Nope, I'm dating Alan." He said, and we both laughed.. though his was a bit nervous. We both knew how crazy the fans were about the Austin and Alan bromance, so he couldn't be serious. As we continued walking, I could see the convenient store, the only store that appeared to be open on the street. Finally reaching it, it took us all about five minutes to get what we needed, and that was four six packs of beer, and seven packs of cigarettes. It was a lot, but Austin was apparently told by James to get some for him and Ben. Andy and Ashley hadn't asked for any, but I just figured that they would. As we were walking out, Austin spoke again. "I wasn't kidding."
Looking over at him, I raised a brow. "Kidding about what?" I inquired, scanning his freckled face.
He looked away from my gaze, and up at the dark night sky. "Alan and me are really dating. Have been for about a month."
I felt my mouth drop. Holy shit! Since when were Alan and Austin gay? I mean, Danny and Ben often cracked a lot of dumb jokes about them, and he fired right back... that was normal, right? "Damn." I said, shaking my head. I smiled then, "Well, if that's what you like, I won't bitch at you for it. You're both happy, and that's all that matter."
Austin turned to me with a grin, his dark eyes lightened slightly, as if my approval pleased him. "Thanks, man. You were the first one that I told... we both wanted to tell the rest of the guys separately, before we went public with it. So nobody's surprised, or angry that we didn't tell them. You know?"
Nodding, I replied, "Yeah. But that's great man! Congrats." I would have patted him on the back if I had an extra hand.
Once we got back to the bus, the guys stayed for another hour and a half. James was his usual drunk self (I may hate drinking, but he's one of the funniest drunks I've ever seen.. and the best part is that he doesn't even try) and Danny and Andy had to help him back to Asking's tour bus. Ashley left with them, and Alan and Austin followed shortly after. We decided we would clean up in the morning, so after saying goodnight to everyone, I went and crashed in my big bedroom.
Removing my clothes so I was just in my black EXPRESS boxers, I lay on the bed and look up at the ceiling. I still couldn't wrap my mind around it. Austin Carlile, gay? Honestly, I thought Alan was at least bi, but.. wow. I picked up my phone and winced at the brightness, making sure Arielle or Serena hadn't texted me. Serena had just sent a picture of Charlie napping, since we hadn't brought him this time around. Tossing the phone down, I rolled over and was soon drifting into sleep.
