Illusions (Pegasus + MCU Fanfic)

Reunited over not so good circumstances

I was beaming as I ran up and embraced my two brothers. 

Thor and Loki returned my hug, a sad smile on their faces.

I pulled away and looked at them, smiling.

My smile soon faded as I saw the look on their faces. 

"What's wrong?" I questioned. 

I then became even more confused as I saw half of Asgard standing inside the ship. 

"We need to talk" Loki said, the sad look still on his face.

My eyes kept dancing between my brothers, the Asgardians and my friends. 

I nodded. "Alright"

"...what?" I whispered, taking in all the information my brothers have just told me.

"It can't be gone" I said, trying to convince myself it's not true.

"I'm sorry Neki, we couldn't save it. Ragnarok was the only option" Thor replied.

I felt tears streaming down my face. 

My home. Gone.

Just like Olympus. 

I felt Paelen's arm around me and Emily's hand on my leg. 

No. 

It can't be. 

"And father?" I whispered, already knowing the answer. 

Loki and Thor shook their heads, eyes on the ground.

I took a shaky breath, as I blinked more tears out of my eyes. 

This can't be happening. 

I felt my breath quicken as my body began to shimmer. 

This is what happens when my emotions take over. 

My powers get out of control.

I looked at my hands which had blue light dancing between them. 

"Neki calm down, its ok" I heard Em say to my left. 

Then a massive shooting pain went through my head, causing me to grab it out of pure agony.

My vision went all blurry and I could just make out Loki kneeling in front of me, telling me to calm down and control the powers. 

I can't.

This can't be real.

It can't be.

It can't....

I opened my eyes to see Loki standing in front of me.

My eyes fell to the ground. 

"I'm sorry" I muttered.

Loki walked towards me and gave me a hug. 

"It's not your fault" He said.

I shook my head. 

"I should have been there. When father passed and just- I'm sorry" 

Loki pulled away. 

"You're friends needed you, the Olympians and the Titans needed you" He reassured.

"The Asgardians needed me!" I retorted, turning away. 

"Neki, you can't be in two places at once"

I turned and looked at him. 

"That's not the same thing" He said, knowing what I was thinking. 

"But its possible" I countered, mentally kicking myself, knowing what I could have done. 

"I could have and should have been there." 

"And if you were what could you have done? Ragnarok was destined to happen." Loki questioned.

"I would have done something" 

"What exactly? Odin couldn't defeat her, The Valkyries could barely defeat her, Thor couldn't defeat her" 

I gave Loki a 'shut up I got the point look' and he stopped. 

I sighed and sat down. 

"I just feel like I should have been there with my family, my people and-"

"And leave behind your second family? Your friends? Paelen, Emily, Pegasus?" Loki said.

"Well no but-" 

"Exactly" 

I looked at my brother. "I hate it when you're right, you know that?" 

Loki chuckled. "Well I'm sorry I'm right all the time"

"I'm not saying you're right all the time, I'm just saying I hate it when you are" I replied. 

Loki put a hand over his heart. "Ouch" 

I laughed. 

"Well you better wake up soon, you're friends are getting worried" 

My eyes widened, "Oh I forgot!" 

Loki smiled and shook his head, then he shimmered away.

A couple days later I was helping the Asgardians with clothes as majority of theirs had blood and were pretty disgusting.

I smiled as a little girl tried on a white tunic with a sliver leaf belt. 

"Do you like it?" I asked her, but I could tell by her beaming face that she did.

The girl nodded and pointed to my own tunic. "We can be twins now!" 

I laughed. "Yes we can! But can you do this?" 

I then made a small pegasus appear and fly around her, making her giggle. 

Paelen then came over and shook his head. 

"Neki stop showing off" He grinned, watching the little girl chase the illusion around.

I stood and pushed him ever so slightly. "Oh and you haven't been?"

Paelen looked outraged. "No I have not!" 

"Right, so that kid over there trying to stretch his arm out has nothing to do with you?" I replied, my arms crossed. 

Paelen looked at the little boy and grinned. "Absolutely not" 

"If you say so" I smiled as I shook my head. 

I then turned around to see Emily, Pegasus and Joel approaching us. 

"Hey love birds" Joel commented, earning a elbow from Em. 

Paelen and I looked at each other and smiled. 

"What are you guys doing here? I thought you were helping out Jupiter with important stuff" I asked. 

Emily looked at me like I was crazy. "Do you know how boring that is?" She laughed and put her arm around me. 

"I was thinking we could all hang out together, like the good old days" Em suggested.

I smiled, "That sounds like a good idea"
