that space || Giyuu x Injured Reader

"One more demon" The water hashira was having trouble finding the demon who escaped. It was a cunning demon and all it did was eat children. Giyuu didn't like the idea that he was separated by his significant other, (Y/N). 

He was starting to feel irritated by the said demon but accepted the challenge to find that disgusting creature that he was trying to decapitate by his Nichirin sword. As he was running in the forest, a crow suddenly appeared. 

"Caw caw, (Y/n) (L/n), one of the Pillars, is currently at a critical state and was sent to the butterfly estate. Caw, Caw!" Giyuu stopped and a shock was visible to his eyes. 'If (y/n) was injured. Then that means, this is one of the twelve kizukis." His rage was driving him to find that cunning demon. His senses became more heightened and that his hands were itching to kill the demon who hurt his significant other.

The chase was prolonged, and the sun is already at its peak. He panted and all he did was curse at his incompetent to slaughter the demon. He then ran and went to the butterfly estate as quickly as he can and in a matter of time, he was now waiting for her while the others are mending her wounds. All he could do was wait and let his wishes do come true. 

"Miss (Y/n) did a good job of stopping the blood flow. Thankfully, the wound is not that deep. We really pray for her recovery." One of the kakushis who help her with her situation sympathized with the water pillar. Giyuu nodded, and when the kakushi left, he sighed heavily. His hands stopped trembling underneath his haori and went inside the room to see her.

He then sat quickly on the chair beside your hospital bed. Many IVs were currently hooked up at your left side and Giyuu can't erase his mind how weak he was, and he let you get severely injured. He couldn't look at your figure, but a memory flashed in his mind.

"Giyuu, why are you avoiding me." the (h/c) girl pulled the water pillar's haori tightly. She was worried about Giyuu, and whenever she approached him about this topic, he'll eventually leave. You can adapt quickly when it comes to Giyuu's feelings that's why when you first approached him, you thought that something was bothering him in one of his missions but this time, you didn't. But, as you asked again with another approach, he really leaves you standing at your estate. 

"I'm just busy with my missions, that's all." He repeated that same sentence repeatedly. 

Then it hit you. Both of you went on a joint mission and when you two decapitated the demons. You were clearly tired at the battle and you both thought that it was over, but the demon scratched your forearm. It did leave a nasty car. Giyuu was away at the moment and when he looked at you, and without a word, he immediately treated your wounds. And that's what you thought that he's thinking that he is not worthy to be with you just because he can't protect you in that simple scratch. 

 "You're more than what you think you are, Giyuu. You have a special place in my heart. Even after this life, I will always pick you. And that for me, is what makes you worthy enough." You cupped his cheeks as he was trying to hold the tears threatening to fall in his ocean eyes. 

He then swiftly gave you a hug. His head resting on your shoulder. Tears welled from deep inside and coursed down his cheeks. You patted his back with comfort, you also held back your tears as you listen to your man with his quiet sobs that escapes his lips. "I love you, always remember that."

He squeezed your right hand and looked at you with worry yet loving eyes, as you peacefully sleep in your slumber. Your words stuck at his head and gently smiled at your peaceful face. "Yeah, you also have a special place in my heart, (Y/n). Sleep and rest well love."

BONUS: 2 weeks later
Shinobu went to see her friend (Y/n) who was badly injured at her latest mission. She then went to her room that she was currently placed in. Careful not to wake her in the middle of the night, she saw the most adorable and good blackmail for Giyuu. The hospital bed that (Y/n) was is so big that Giyuu decided to sleep beside her and hugged her like she was a pillow. Shinobu chuckled and just let them be.
