When Pierce woke up, Tyler's hair was in his mouth and he was uncomfortably hot from spending the entire night in bed with the furnace of a boy. Still, he didn't pull away, only blew Tyler's hair away from his lips and pressed his face against the top of his head. It was the first morning that he woken up with Tyler in bed next to him and didn't immediately need to get up and prepare breakfast before the other boy woke.

They were going to Tyler's house that morning, to eat with his parents and retrieve the younger's anxiety medication, which he was supposed to take every morning. It would be a lie to say that he wasn't nervous— he was terrified to act together in front of Tyler's mother for the first time, since she could very easily decide Pierce didn't treat her son right and retract her blessing— but he was also excited to interact with Tyler's parents as their son's partner instead of Mr. Amore's boss's son. It was no secret to Pierce that most people didn't like that side of him, and what he had seen from Mrs. Amore if the years has indicated to him that Tyler's family was no exception. Showing them a different side of himself, one that could be openly affectionate with their son, was something he felt they should get to see.

As if sensing he was awake, Tyler began to shift in his arms, a small groan spilling out from between his lips. Chuckling, Pierce lifted his face from Tyler's hair and rand a hand over the top of it to try and flatten the unruly strands. "Hey," he greeted, voice rough. Making another noise, this one if clear protest, Tyler turned away his body away from him, burying his face in the pillow there. "You're gonna have to get up, you know". Whatever Tyler said in response was muffled. "Hmm?"

"I don't know," Tyler said clearly, having turned his face so his mouth wasn't covered.

"So what? You're just planning on staying here forever?" There was no vocal response, but he did get a nod. "Alright, Fine. I guess I'll just go have breakfast with your parents on my own".

Moaning in displeasure, Tyler flopped onto his back, blinking his green eyes open slowly and staring up at the ceiling. He didn't even look that tired, though Pierce was comparing him to the beyond exhausted Tyler he had been weeks before. "Well apparently you and my mother just hang out now or whatever".

"We don't hang out," Pierce protested. "I just went over there to see you that day and you weren't there and you mom just wanted to talk to me about some stuff".

"Is that when you told her you loved me?" Tyler inquired, rolling into his side to face him. "She was kinda weird that night and pushed me to talk to you".

"No," Pierce admitted, turning his face up towards the ceiling. "I told her I loved you when she came to pick up your car from my apartment after I brought you to the hospital".

"What?" Tyler inquired, reentering Pierce's line of vision when he pushed himself up onto his elbows. "That was months ago. She's known for that long?"

"Yeah," Pierce confirmed, watching with interest as Tyler's expression shifted into something that looked a lot like understanding.

"Oh," he breathed. "So that's why she was acting so weird that night. I never thought..." his green eyes unfocused and flicked quickly up and down Pierce's face. "She started to see you differently from then on... I just assumed that it was because I told her how I felt about you the next day, but this makes more sense, I think".

"Yeah". Pierce hummed thoughtfully, slipping his hand beneath the blankets to pat at Tyler's bare thigh. "Alright. We should get up. They said to be there by ten, and it is..." he trailed off as he checked his cellphone on his night stand. "It's nine thirty five already".
