"In every moment a choice exists. We can cling to the past or embrace the inevitability of change, move on and allow a brighter future to unfold before us. Either way, when the familiar has departed and the unfamiliar has taken its place, all we can really do is to say hello and welcome... and perhaps, if the the loved one is near you, perhaps everything will be just fine"

It was hard to say how long the two women stood there, at Fanny's flat, she was supporting Catherine's weigh as the blonde digested her mother's hateful words.
Eventually, though, they carried their embrace to the bedroom and laid on the bed without changing their clothes. Fanny kept caressing Catherine's golden locks until her breathing was even and she thought the woman had fallen asleep. She was about to leave the room when heard a small voice - "Please ... do not leave me ..."
In another circumstances, Fanny would've teased at how adorable she looked with those big puppy eyes. Instead, she opted to slide a hand under Catherine's blouse and pull her in close against her warm skin to quell their need for each other's touch. Instantly, Fanny felt Catherine's rigid shoulders relax, yet the trembling that her tears caused not cease. - "Shh" - Fanny cooed, stroking her hair - "it's over now. You're safe with me." - At that, Catherine hugged the brunette tighter, trusting in her words with her life.
They remained in their embrace for what felt like eternity, until heat transposed into desperate yet tender kisses. Catherine found Fanny's lips first, and the brunette was happy to oblige as she held Catherine tighter in her arms. There was something about kissing Catherine eased the tension in Fanny herself; what Catherine felt, be it angst or peace, always rubbed off on her. And so Fanny kissed her harder, tongue growing more insistent to drive away any and all evil that have caused the blonde's distress.
Growing warmer by the second in the place she needed her the most, Catherine ghosted her hands over the swell of Fanny's chest and further up to rest on her face, pulling her in with more force than she intended to her lips. Their lips crashed together, each growing dizzy with want.
"Please take me" - Catherine all but pleaded, yet already pulling Fanny subtly to the carpet below them as the bed felt too dense with the recent memories of Renée's words.
Fanny, with her eyes still closed, didn't need them to get to their destination; kindly, she descended to the floor and pulled Catherine slowly on top of her, positioning her legs on either side so she was wide open yet comfortable.
It took all her strength to pull away from Catherine's lips in order to look straight into bright green eyes with her burning browns. They didn't need words to say exactly what they wanted to convey:
"I'll never let anyone hurt you."
"I trust you."
Fanny's eyes never left Catherine's as her hands started to undressing her, Catherine was breathing hard against Fanny's hands, finding the strength to stay upright in the lust she read in the eyes of the woman below her. Gently, the brunette pushed all garment away and broke their eye contact only to stare at newly revealed skin.
"Dear Lord, you are so beautiful!" - Fanny sighed in awe of the blonde's heaving chest and began a trail of kisses that covered every inch of her breasts. Catherine didn't hold back on her own verbal signs of pleasure, holding on to Fanny for dear life as she felt her whole body catch on fire.
Fanny's hand was already where it needed its to be, Catherine instantly responded to the contact, gasping into Fanny's skin. - "Please ..." - She began, but was soon cut off by Fanny - "You don't need to beg, darling. I'll give you everything you need and more."
