Penny's P.O.V.

I've managed to convince Poco, Brock and Piper to come and provide Mr. Beautiful some back up. I've witnessed a fellow brawler die due to bat attack and I am not gonna let that happen again for the second time. More or so, Colt may get ambushed and we need to get there immediately. We waited at the circle for Shelly patiently, but as a toll, more time is wasted. After a few moments, Shelly came with Mike and Carl tailing behind.

"You guys are slow, can you run more faster next time?" I retorted.

"Sorry Pen, but we had a little conversation so yeah" Shelly replied

"Ok whatever, we need to go. The more time wasted, the more Colt's life is in danger. Plus, I'm pretty sure Mortis is behind all of this and Colt being alone is exactly what he's been waiting for." I said.

Shelly nodded, "Alright then is everybody ready!?" she shouted

"Yeah!!" everyone responded.

"Then LET'S GO!" She yelled as she starts running towards the eastern side of town

"YEAH!!" all of us replied as we followed her.

Colt's P.O.V.

I have reached where the outbreak took place. What I saw surprised me. Bats. Bats everywhere. Of all kind. Fruit bats, vampire bats, even carnivorous bats. I looked at the devastating scene from afar. I walked in closer, but also being mindful of the noises I make.

When I got closer, the scene became a horrifying mess. Corpses of livestock lied around. Litters of seeds from fruits can be seen everywhere and what's worse is that some carcases of people unfortunate enough to be caught by the swarm also lies around being feasted by vampire bats and carnivorous bats. I wanted to vomit at the scene in front of me, but I held it in. I decided to investigate further. As quietly as possible, I sneaked around the bats but I accidentally stepped on a branch. All of the bats faced their attention to me, but quickly went back to what they are doing. I was confused as to why.

Suddenly, something hit the back of my head making me pass out.

??? P.O.V.

finally, I was able to knock him out with my shovel. I carried his body somewhere, somewhere where he wont be able to find help. That somewhere is my bunker, 10 meters underneath the graveyard, where I keep most of my plans and valuables away.

When I got there, I tied the sheriff on a chair, making sure the rope is secured for him not to be able to escape easily yet not too tight to hurt him. I also unarmed him of his weapons and removed things that can help him escape. I grinned as I finished my work. Now all I need to do is play the waiting game.
