Third person's P.O.V

As Jessicia walked into the hospital room, she had a feeling that something was seriously off, mostly due to the fact that her friend was covered in bandages from head to toe, her friends that were usually happy and upbeat, were all dark and gloomy.

"Oh my, Kate, what happened." She asks the rest of her friends as she looks up at them all. They all just turn their heads away in response to her question.

Suddenly Cody spoke up in a very angry tone.

"She was out on her morning run." Right then he stopped talking and left the room to calm down.

Jessicia's P.O.V

I looked over at Alice, looking for an answer or explanation to what happened to Kate.

"She said she was on her usual morning routine out for a run, but her usual route was under heavy construction, so she decided to go a different way, one she'd never been before, and that's when," she stopped as she started to choke on her sobs as tears that started coming out streaming down her face like lava right after a volcanic eruption, before she continued.

"When some guys blocked her into an alley, they...they." I now realized what she was trying to say. I felt awful, I know it wasn't my fault, but I just felt like I could have stopped this had I been with my friend. Memories started to flood my mind about why I learned to fight, maybe I should teach my friends to prevent this from ever happening ever again.

[Flashback to two years ago when Jessicia was 14]

I woke up super happy this morning. It was such a nice day outside, and yesterday my mom promised me I could go surfing with her today, before she has to fly out to Malibu for the surfing championships. As soon as I got dressed, I bolted straight down the stairs and right to the kitchen. As I sat down at the breakfast table my mother put a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch in front of me then poured milk into it.

"So mom, I know your super busy and stuff, but we're still going surfing today right."I ask her.

"Yes, we are still going surfing sweetie, now eat your food." She says, causing me to hurry up and eat straight away.

"Oh wait sweetie, before we go surfing I have some stuff I have to do, so I think we'll just go later on in the day. Is that okay?" She asks me as I nod.

"Yeah that's fine, I needed to go for a tea run anyway, since we're out. So that's fine." I say as I put my bowl in the dishwasher after rinsing it out. I then made my way up the stairs to my room grabbing my jacket and twenty dollars. I gently slid down the railing on the banister landing right at the bottom perfectly before heading to the store for some tea.

As I was running I passed by lots of people when suddenly something pulled me into an alley. I turned and saw three men surrounding me, but as I tried to scream a hand cam over my mouth.

"This is gonna be fun." One of the males said as he placed his hands on me taking off my clothes piece by piece. As tears filled my eyes.

[End of Flashback]

I felt my eyes becoming damp with tears that were trying to flood out. Remembering what had happened, the whole reason I took a self defence class in the first place. It sucks that two days later we learned that my mother died in a plane crash on her way to the surf off's. The thoughts made tears start to form in my eyes, but luckily for me nobody even noticed.

###

Another day had passed by. I was at the hospital in Kate's room as a knock was heard on the door, revealing Cody. I decided I had spent enough time here for today anyway, so I left and started walking to the beach that was by my house, so I could function better. As I approached the sand I could feel a slight breeze in the air causing me to relax.

I took my shoes off feeling the sand in between my toes as the wind blew softly. I sat down hoping to feel at least some peace.

"I thought I would find you here." A familiar voice said as I turned around to see who it was, only to see Alexander walking towards me. As I ask him.

"What are you doing here?" All he responds with is a look that says really, before sitting down next to me.

"I am here to ask you a question, and it's really important, so pay attention please!" He says after turning towards me.

"Okay yeah sure, shoot." I tell him while turning in his direction.

"Wi...w...Will you go out on a date with me?" He stutters a little bit while asking.

Oh how cute he's nervous, why don't we mess with him a little bit.

"Oh, well I don't know how my boyfriend would feel about me going out with him." I say Hoping my words would confuse him.

"You have a boyfri...Wait a second, hold up why did you say you didn't know how he would feel about you going out with him? Wait I am so confused." He says the confusion clear on his face, hah job accomplished.

"Want me to explain?" I ask as I giggle slightly.

"Please do." He says,

"I was talking about you, that was just my really unique and confusing way of saying yes, I will go out with you." I say as his confusion turns into a large smile forming his face so elegant and beautiful.

Before I even knew what he was doing he picked me up and spun me around, before pulling me into the water in my clothes, as well as walking in himself. We splashed water around for a few minutes, then he got me right in front of him and kissed my forehead gently. He leaned down and delicately placed a kiss on my lips sweetly.

After that I went home and went to bed so I could go to school tomorrow.
