Unexpected Love

•Chapter Ten•

The rain poured as Ell reached the house, she only knew where Miya was because she tracked her phone. The child was a wiz with those sorts of things. The cab driver had finally pulled in frong of the old victorian, he turned to look at the kid. "That will be forty kid" he said.

Ell sighed pulling out some cash, she placed her hoodie on her head then got out the car. She looked up at the house smiling. She couldn't wait to see Miya, she ran up to the door and began to ring the doorbell repeatedly.

Reece and Miya were in the house just watching I-Zombie when they heard the door. "Reece get that" she glanced over at her cousin. "I'm lazy right now" Miya chuckled turning her attention back towards the show.

Reece rolled his eyes, getting up to check the door. When he got in front of he door, he peeped out the hole. "What the hell" he muttered. Reece unlocked the door, it was bolted down pretty well because he had enemies in high places. He flung the door open and stared at the child. "Hello, can I help you?" Reece asked.

Ell tilted her head a little bit, she stared at the blonde guy for a few seconds before speaking. "Hello, I am here to see Miya" she replied. She tried to step in but Reece stopped her.

"How do I know you're not an assassinan?" Reece frowned slightly.

"Because for one I would have been in your house already, seens pretty easy to break in and second you'd be dead right now" Ell replied with sass. She pushed Reece out of her way, which shocked him completely. "Miya!" Ell called out.

Soon as she rounded the corner, there sat Miya. A smile spread across Ell's face. She had missed Miya dearly, the girl didn't have any friends but Miya. The students in school thought she was a freak because she's adopted.

When Miya spotted Ell, she was in complete shock. "Uh..." she tried to get the words out. She stood up walking over to Ell, gave her a hug. Even though she didn't know the girl that well, she cared about her very much. "Ell.." Myia said before kissing the top of her head. "I missed...." she paused.

Miya pulled away, she looked down at Ell. "Does Nik know you're here?" she questioned. "Of course he doesn't, you snuck out" Miya sighed. She pulled away then sat down on the sofa. Her heart began to race thinking about Nik. Would he be mad at her? Because Ell was there. "You need to call him" Miya looked over at Ell. "Like right now, you shouldn't have come. Nik doesn't think it's safe, you know that Ell. He's trying to protect everyone in this situation, you can't run away" Miya adds.

"I know but I just missed you" Ell was now sitting next to Miya. She looked down at her soaked feet. The girl had worn only sandals since it was the only think that was by the door. "I already called Nik" she looked up at Miya. "I told him that I'm staying at a friends house" she replied.

Miya nodded her head, she was going to say something but that's when she heard her phone ring. It was from a number she didn't know. "Hello" Miya answered.

"Miya it's me, Nik" he replied. There was some worry in his voice. Miya couldn't help but feel nervous, she hadn't heard his voice in weeks. But on the other hand his voice gave her somewhat of a relief. "Miya are you there?" Nik asked.

Miya cleared her throat. Even though he couldn't see her, she nodded her head. "Yes, I'm still here and Ell is with me" Miya replied.

Soon Reece came into the living room, she took a seat in the green lazy boy. He raised his eyesbrow at Miya but she wasn't paying attention to him. "So munchkin" Reece turned his attention to the little girl. "Do you have a name?" he asked.

Ell crossed her arms staring at Reece. "I do and it's Elle but everyone calls me Ell" she replied.

"Hmm I don't like that so I'm going to call you Munchkin" Reece said. He glanced over at Miya who was still on the phone. She had motioned him to take Elle into the other room, see if maybe she wanted some ice cream. "So how about you and I get some ice cream" Reece suggested. "We can talk about ponies and puppies" he adds.

"Dude you had me at ice cream" Elle took off her sweat shirt. She hoped off the sofa and headed towards the kitchen with Reece.

Once they were out the room Miya put her full attention on Nik. "Look she's alright being here for the night" Miya said.

Nik couldn't make it because his car had broke down, it wouldn't even start. He was frustrated with that he couldn't get Ell, plus Mykie was being nonchalant about the situation. "Ight but I'm coming tomorrow" Nick said. "It'll have to be in the afternoon because I have business in the morning" he adds.

"I bet she's going to be happy about this" Miya chuckles.

"Yeah" Nik replied.

There was a silence between them, it was awkward. Nik could hear the sound of her breathing, it was soothing to him. He had missed her more than she could imagine, all he wanted was her in his arms.

Finally Miya spoke up "I should go now" she said. "Make sure Ell isn't eating a gallon of ice cream" she laughed a little.

Nik cleared his throat "um yeah....sorry" he said. "I'll talk with you later Miya" Nik added.

Soon they both hung up the phone, Miya let a soft sigh escape her lips. She got up making her way inside the kitchen. "You two don't eat all that ice cream" Miya said. "Oh Ell, you're staying the night" she smiled.

Ell eyes widen, she was very happy to be staying with her best friend.

"He'll be here to pick you up in the afternoon, I assume after work" she replied. "But I think it's time for you to take a bath. Get some clean clothes, then we can come back down eat more ice cream, pizza and watch a lot of movies" Miya smiled.

Ell hoped off the chair and ran out the kitchen, going upstairs.

Reece couldn't help but laugh at the girl, she was the absolutely the cutest kid he's met.

Miya looked over at Reece "build it" she said. She walked out the kitchen then upstairs. She had some old clothes that he younger sister had left when she came to visit Reece.

After Miya had finshed bathing Ell, she put some clothes on the small child. "Nik likes you" she small voice spoke.

She looked at the Ell, she shook her head. There was no way Nik liked Miya, they hadn't spoken in weeks. He had to been over her already. "You shouldn't say things that aren't true" Miya said.

"It's not a lie" Ell said. She climbed on Miya's bed. Ell legs were hanging off, the pink shirt she had on was a big on her. The grey shorts were just her size, she reached down slipping on some of Miya's socks. "I think he loves you" Ell teased.

Miya couldn't help but laugh, she shook her head. "Let's not talk about this anymore besides, yous shouldn't even know about love" she said. Miya lifted Ell up off the bed, they both walked out the bedroom door.

Ell was the first down stairs, when she spotted the fort that Reece had build a smile came to her face. "I love it!" she squealed.

"I'm glad you like it, let me show you around" Reece said. He climbed inside after Ell. He started to show her where the pizza went, along with the television and soda pop.

Miya was standing outside of it, she couldn't help but think about Nik. For some reason Miya had falling in love with it. It was a love that consumed her and that scared the hell out of her. She had jumped slightly from someone calling her name, she looked over to see Ell. "I'm coming" she grinned as she walked ovee to the inside fort.

That night Reece, Miya and Ell had loads of fun. They watched movies until they all fell asleep.
