A month or so had gone by everything was slowly going back to normal. At least for some, but not for Miya it was taking more time. She hadn't dealt with anything like this before, her life was simple. Even back in Hallows Grove, she had no idea what was going on. Probably because her parents made sure they sent her away before things got worse.
She still hadn't spoken to anyone. She had suffered from many things, including ptsd. She would wake in the middle of the night, screaming in terror. She relived that same day every night and day. Reece or Nick would have to come in to calm her down. Once she did, she'd turn away from them. It broke Nick's heart, he couldn't make her feel better.
It was a gloomy morning probably because the snow was falling from the sky. It was the middle of December, everyone was in a rush with getting Christmas decorations, trees, gifts and etc. They were having a good normal day.
They had thought they defeated all the Germans but that wasn't the case, there were more just plotting on when to show up
Nick was on his way to Reece's house, he wanted to check on Miya. Even though she wouldn't take to him, he still wanted to be by her side. He loved her, nothing would change that. As he rode towards the house, his phone rang. He glanced over to see it was Phoenix. "Mykie can you answer that?" he asked.
Mykie leaned over pausing the Christmas music, Carol of the Bells was playing. She reached for Nick's phone. "Hello" she answered.
"Hey, where's Nick?" Phoenix asked. He was making his way out the Hotel Zachary. He had made a deal with the Irishmen, they needed weapons and Nick had them.
"Well, he can't come to the phone because he's driving and it's snowing, if you haven't noticed" Mykie said. "We don't want to have any accidents" she added.
She looked out the window, the snow started to fall pretty hard at this point. Her mind started to wonder, completely ignoring anything Phoenix was saying. Her mind took her to Miya. The man that had kidnapped them said Miya was a witch but that couldn't be true. She never showed any signs of being one but why did they put the shackles on her? Mykie wanted to ask Miya but she knew Miya wasn't talking to anyone.
Soon a car horn blew in a distance, that's caused Mykie to get out of her trance state. "I'm sorry, what?" she asked.
"Were you paying attention at all?" Phoenix questioned. He got inside his car, then started it up. He reached over turning on the heat, he would wait for a while so his car could heat up. "I said tell Nick, it's good to go" he adds.
"It's a good to go" Mykie looked over at Nick.
They had finally arrived at Reece's house, to Mykie it didn't seem that long of a ride. Probably because she was lost in her own thoughts this entire ride.
"Tell him alright, I'll be over after I finish seeing Miya" Nick replied. The once engine that purred shut off, there was completely silence for a moment.
Mykie hung the phone up after she told him, she looked over at Nick. "Are you alright?" she had noticed him staring off.
"Hmm?" Nick glanced at Mykie. He chuckled nervously, then nodded his head. "I'm fine, let's just head inside" he grabbed his keys then got out.
He went over helping Ell out the car, she decided not to wait for them. She ran towards the front porch and began to knock.
Soon Reece popped up, his smile was big. He wore an aporn, he even had cookies in his hand. He was literally dressed like the perfect host. "Hello, welcome to my home" he opened the door wider. "Come on in" Reece smiled.
He didn't have to tell Ell twice, she ran inside. She skipped her way towards the kitchen, it was a regular thing for her. Nick and Mykie made their way in. There were all kinds of Christmas decorations up, huge real tree something Nick really couldn't afford. There were lights all over the tree, green and red ornaments with a bright golden star at the top. The house looked like something out of a magazine.
"Has Miya talked yet?" Nick turned his attention to Reece.
"No, she hasn't but I was just going to go up there" Reece replied. He placed the plate of cookies a on the table. He didn't know what else to do, he tried everything.
"I bet I can make Miya get up" Ell spoke up. They didn't allow her to go go Miya's room, thought that Ell would bother her.
"Oh please" Mykie rolled her eyes. "If she's not talking to Nick and Reece. What makes you think she'll talk to you?" she asked.
"Because I'm here favorite person" Ell said. She skipped away up the stairs but stopped. "I bet those cookies she will" she turned back around and continued.
When she finally got to Miya's room she knocked before entering. She looked around the room, it was actually clean for someone that laid in bed all day. "Miya" Ell made her way towards her. She soon climbed on the bed, she placed her hand on Miya. "We miss you" she said. "I have a plate full of cookies riding on this so you have to get up" Ell added.
Miya was going to ignore her but didn't, she flipped around on her side. She couldn't help but smile at the girl. Even her doctor said it was best if she socializes with the people she loved the most. "I'll go but I don't know of I'll enjoy it" Miya said. She got up, slipped on the bedroom slippers.
When she stood up Ell took her hand, leading her out the door. When they were at the top of the stairs, everyone turned their heads on shock. They couldn't believe Ell actually got her to come out.
Miya felt awkward but chose to ignore it. She walked downstairs with the Ell hold her hand. "So which one owes her cookies?" she asked.
"That would me" Reece groaned. "Come on munchkin, let's go see what more treats we can make" he started to walk off. Ell was right behind him, she had grown fond of Reece.
She soon spotted him, his green eyes piercing at her. She was trying so hard not to make eye contact with him but it was difficult. Miya had finally gave in to him, she stared at him intensely.
