halloween-
It was the day before Halloween and everyone has already gotten ready for the event. Except for two. One was a boy named Don who was brooding over a cute nonexistent girl. "Why don't I have Halloween date yet?!"
"If you keep making a fuss then your Halloween wish will never happen." Ray told him as he set down a bowl of candy onto the table.
"You're only saying that because you actually have a girlfriend." Don reminded as he grabbed a candy from the bowl, unwrapping it only to let the candy roll on the table.
Ray ignored his truthful statement—tossing an unwrapped candy in his mouth and giving the green-haired girl named Gilda a pat on the shoulder. The other one who wasn't prepared for Halloween was her.
Gilda didn't exactly need a Halloween date, she just wanted Don to notice her existence. Invisibility was the atmosphere surrounding both of them. Don felt like his future girlfriend wasn't there while Gilda felt like her own self was invisible.
That's when Gilda got an idea.
Jumping up from her seat, she ran down the hall only to accidentally bump shoulders with Emma. They both caught each other from falling to the ground. "Sorry, Emma!"
"Oh, no worries! Are you okay?" Emma kindly asked with concern, holding Gilda's hands in a caring matter.
"Well yes but actually no." Tearing away from Emma's hand, Gilda made a run to her shared room with some of the kids and teens. She grabbed her bedsheet and poked two holes in them. Throwing it over herself, she truly felt like she disappeared from reality.
"You know, we can still see you, right?"
Startled from the voice, Gilda put on her glasses and turned around to the duo standing behind her. "Emma! Ray! I'm just trying on a Halloween costume!"
"Gilda, I hate to say this but I'm concerned. It's not like you to miss the second meal of the day. I mean, you're always on our case about it so it's not exactly fair if you skip out." Emma informed as Gilda sweated many bullets.
"What? Oh, I already ate!"
"The only reason she's lying to us right now is because she's going to play a prank on Don because apparently Don just wants a Halloween date."

.
"That doesn't make any sense. Why would you lie about eating if you're just doing something that could be done after our balanced lunch?"
"Says the one who planned the whole day without any breaks to confess to me. Also, when did you start being a Gilda?" Emma stuck her tongue out to the reminder Ray gave her with a gently pat to her head.
Laughing at the couple, Gilda took the sheet off her before stepping forward to them. "Actually, I could use your help with something.."

Minutes after 12:00am, Don was feeling very parched. He couldn't sleep either as his mind was still clogged with the nonexistent girl. After turning on the facet for a glass of water, he shut it off only for something to happen in an instant. The shattered glass flung everywhere as the water fell by Don's bare feet.
"Hello?" Don called out as he reached for a knife. It was probably nothing to be worried about but Don couldn't take any chances. The best option was that one of the kids was tricking him. The worst option was a demon trying to kill him. A demon wasn't that smart, right?
Hearing more spooky sounds, he dropped the knife and grabbed his other weapon. "Don't mess with me! I have the power of my gun and arrow on my side! AhhhHH-!" Some things out of nowhere directly to Don as they started to spin around him.
Having enough of the spooks throwing him on his toes, Don ran back to his room but was stopped by bumping into something. Falling to the ground, he opened his eyes to see Gilda rubbing her head from the sudden impact. " Gilda?!"
Slowly opening her eyes, they widened as Gilda grabbed the white sheet and put it by her mouth. After a few moments of realization—Gilda set it down and muttered a apology. "I forgive you but why would you prank me? It's pretty unlike you unless you're in the Halloween spirit-"
"I became a ghost because I'm invisible to you!"
Silence fell upon on both of their ends. They slowly inched closer to each other as the hallways were darkened among them. Don reached out his hand to Gilda's cheek as she turned to face him.
"I'm glad because you're the nonexistent girl who didn't realize my indirect invisible feelings."
.

.
"Indirect invisible feelings?"
The realization dawned on Gilda as her eyes widened when she finally understood. "All this time you were complaining about me? That's because I'm the ghost and the nonexistent girl."
Don nodded with a smile of confirmation as tears threatened to spill from Gilda's eyes. Don caressed her cheek as they were about to lean in for a kiss but was prevented by a...

"Boo!"
"Ah!"
Holding each other close of the spooky ghosts—that were revealed to be Emma and Ray—their frightened faces disappeared instantly. "That wasn't funny, you two!" Gilda scolded as Emma laughed in reply.
"Technically, you did ask for our help so it was pretty hilarious. Also, yes, we did do all those spooks. Anyways, this was fun but I'm going to bed so goodnight." Ray informed with a smirk before throwing his sheet on the ground and walking back to his room.
"Goodnight and have a Happy spooky Halloween! Hahaha!" Emma dropped her sheet next to Ray's before skipping off to follow him. Don and Gilda helped each other up as they picked up the white sheets that were left on the floor.
"So, are you prepared for Halloween since you have a date?" Gilda asked Don as he gave her a kiss that made them drop the sheets back on the ground.
"Yeah, I think I am."
