Emma opened her eyes, finding herself on a sandy beach. There was a sailing ship in the ocean, the sun was setting, and many doves flew by the horizon.

Looking around at her blurry surroundings, she instantly knew where she was.

The human world.

The orange-haired girl rubbed and blinked her eyes, getting a clearer vision of the scenery. To her surprise, familiar laughter was heard by the ocean tides.

It was her family.

Her family that she remembered.

They were taking off their shoes, pulling up their pants and tying up their skirts, and walking freely to a new location.

Emma stood up to her two bare feet, calling out to the ones she loved. "Guys! Wait! Over here!"

But... she wasn't moving.

Her family also wasn't responding.

Was it because her shoes were off? The loud splashing waves? Did they... forget about her?

No, none of it, because Emma was in dreamland.

One last salty, bitter memory.

Holding her shoes, she wiped her tears as the waves continued to hit the shore. With a smile, she watched them walk into the bright abyss.

Perhaps in another world, they would all be together. Alternatively, they didn't have to remember her.

In reality, she had to forget them.

And to settle her selfishness, it was okay.

Turning away as the wind blew her hair, she closed her eyes once again, and let the light consume her.

"You won't have to see me again"
