My phone rings and they look at me. I pull it out and answer it. "Hello?" I ask. "Ah Estelle!" Jenkins says. "Jenkins is something wrong?" I ask. "Doctor Goodman called." He says. I drop my head and sigh. "About what? Please don't stay he needs to see me." I say. Cassandra tilts her head. "He does. He wants to see you in thirty minutes." He says. I groan and rub my head. "Okay. Cassandra and I will be there soon. We have to head back to the cabin and gather our things. I'll call you for a door when we are ready." I say. "Okay. I will be waiting." He says. He hangs up and I put my phone up. "What is it?" Cassandra asks. I rub my face and sigh. "My doctor wants to see me. Well one of the five doctors I used to see before coming to the Library." I say. She nods. "Well we should go." She says. She turns to Estrella. "It was good seeing you." She says. "You as well. Both of you satay safe out there." She says. "We will." She says. We then leave. We get to the cabin and gather our things. We haven't spoken a single word since we left. "Estelle." Cassandra says. "Yes?" I ask as I finish packing my stuff up. "Are you sure you are okay? I didn't scare you or anything did I?" She asks. I turn and grab her hand. "Cassandra!" I say. She looks at me. "It is okay. You didn't scare me. It shocked me and I didn't know how to respond at first but you didn't scare me. In fact you made me realize I have fallen for you as well." I say. She smiles and nods. "I'm glad." She says. I hug her and smile. "I never thought I'd fall for someone." I say. She pulls away and smiles at me. "Well we should get going." She says. I nod and go to grab my phone. As I pull it out Cassandra grabs her bag. I call Jenkins and ask for a door and he gets one set up. I hang up and grab my bag. "Let's keep it a secret from the others for now." Cassandra says. "Okay." I say. She leans over and kisses me once more. I smile as she does and this time kiss back. After we pull apart we walk through the door. As we do and look around I see the others are here. Well that is except Flynn. "Hey guys!" Ezekiel says. "Hey!" Cassandra cheerfully says. She sets her bag down and sits on the table swinging her legs. "Wait did you let her have caffeine?" Stone asks. "I didn't stop her why?" I ask. "She can't have caffeine. It makes her go nuts." Ezekiel says. I laugh slightly. "Ops!" I say. I quickly go to my room and set my bag down. Once back down the stairs the clipping book goes crazy. It stops on a page and we walk over. It is about a case dealing with some stone from Egyptian Mythology. "Okay well Stone, Jones, and Colonel you three go see about what is going on. Cillian, Sutton you two do some research upstairs on what this artifact may be." Jenkins says. Cassandra and I go upstairs as he fires up the door. "Where do we ever start looking?" I ask. "Not sure. Normally the others pick random books." She says. I hear the door close as I look at the books. "Ladies!" Jenkins calls. The two of us walk back down and he looks at us. "Cassandra you can look up information while I take Estelle to see about something in her hometown." He says. "She knows Jenkins. I told her." I say. He raises an eyebrow but nods and claps his hands. "That is great!" He says. "I'd like to go as well if I may." Cassandra says. He looks at me and I nod. "It will be fine with me." I say. He nods. "Well let's go." He says. He fires the door up and we go through. As we do we walk out into a room in the hospital. We walk to the waiting room and Jenkins signs us in. We sit down and wait. It is about a ten minute wait before Dr. Goodman comes for me. We all three go back with him and to his office. "Good afternoon. It is good to see you Estelle. Who might this be?" He asks. I smile slightly. "This is Cassandra. She is a close friend now." I say. He smiles and seems pleased. "That is wonderful to hear. I was actually calling for you to come in today to speak about forming friendships." He says. I nod. "Thank you for your concern." I say. He folds his hands together. "There is more." He says. His voice worries me. "Dr Goodman?" I ask. He looks down then back up. "The test results from the other day returned. It is showing that you have kidney failure." He says. My heart stops as he says that. All the happiness I've had disappears and I sit here feeling like the world is falling apart. "Wait Kidney failure? That is horrible!" Cassandra says. He nods. "Yes it is. In just a month or two it will progress and get worse." He says. "How long?" I ask. He looks at me. "How long do I have?" I ask. He sighs and looks down. "I'm sorry to say but only three to four months." He says. Pain fills my heart as he tells me that. "Can't she get a transplant?" Cassandra asks. "Yes but the waiting list is five to seven years. Time she doesn't have." He says. "So I'm going to die?" I ask. My voice is low and barely there. The room goes quiet. "Unless we can finally someone willing to give a kidney that is a match I'm afraid so." He says. Tears fill my eyes. After everything I've been through and made it through Im going to die you anyway. "How can we see if we are a match?" Cassandra asks. "There will need to be a blood sample as well as a compatibility test." He says. I get up and go to walk out. Only Cassandra jumps up and grabs my arm. I look at her and she looks hurt. "Don't worry okay. I will be a donor if I'm a match." She says. I look at her hurting. "How can I not worry. You know what this feels like. You know how it feels when a doctor tells you you are going to die." I say. She frowns and reaches up to rub my cheek. "Yes I do but when I gave up hope of making it through I was given a second chance. I will to help and give you a second chance if I can." She says. She stands right in front of me. "Cassandra I'm not ready to die." I say crying slightly. She pulls me close and holds me. "I know." She says softly. She just holds me as I cry some. I have my arms wrapped around her and head buried against her. "Miss Cassandra I can have blood work and compatibility test done immediately if you are sure about this." Goodman says. She turns. "I have never been more sure about anything." She says. I look at her shocked by this. "Okay. Follow me then please." He says. She nods and goes to follow him. She smiles at me then walks out. I stand here not sure how to respond. "Estelle!" Jenkins says. I turn to him. "Yes?" I ask. "Come sit down." He says. I nod and sit back down. He rubs my arm and smiles slightly. "Don't work. Everything is going to be just fine. If Cassandra isnt a match we will find you a match." He says. I shake my head. "I have no family Jenkins. My parents are dead, they had no siblings, their parents and families are dead. I'm all alone." I say. He pulls me into a hug and I can't keep myself from crying more. He rubs my back and tries to calm me. "I'm sure the others would be glad to offer to be of help if you tell them." He says. I shake my head. "No. They can't know!" I say pulling away from him. He looks at me. "Why not? If it means giving you a second chance." He says. "Because they can't know. They just can't." I say. He sighs. "Cassandra wanted to keep her tumor from us as well. Her plan didn't turn out like she wished for it to do. Keeping this from them won't help." He says. I look away and pull my legs closer. We sit here in silence and I can only think of how I'm going to die. A few more minutes pass by and the door opens. I look to see Cassandra and Goodman walking in. "We will get the results in about a day or so." He says. "Okay." I say. "Cassandra may I get your number so I can call when the results are in?" He asks. She give shim her number and he puts it in some paperwork. "Good. Well I hope this is going to be a good sign. I am looking forward to getting the results and hopefully they will be positive." He says. "Okay. Is there anything else?" Jenkins asks. "Not right now. I will call if something comes up. If there is any problems call me and let me know. I don't want anything to happen to you." He says. I nod and get up. They get up and we all walk out. "You guys have a great day and remember to be careful. Don't do to much that will cause you to cause to much damage to your kidney." He says. I nod. "Yes sir." I say. We leave and go through a door to the Library. I go to walk up the stairs to my room but Jenkins calls my name. "What is it Jenkins?" I ask. "We have a job to do." He says. I groan. "Can't I just sit this one out? It's not like I even asked to be here." I say. He sighs. "Thanks is no reason for you to be acting like this. Yes you have some medical issues but it will be okay in the end." He says. I narrow my eyes. "It won't be okay Jenkins. I have three maybe four months to live. Nothing will ever be okay!" I say. Tears filling my eyes. He tries to say something but I ignore him and go uo the stairs. "Let her go Jenkins. She needs time to process this. She is hurting and doesn't need a lecture." I hear Cassandra say. I stop walking and lean against a book case. "I just don't want her to let herself go. She needs to make sure she keeps up with her health so that she doesn't speed up the process. She needs to hang in there and be strong till we can figure out if you are a match. Then if you aren't we can do all we can to find a match." He says. "I know Jenkins. I'm scared for her too and I don't want her to die. I will to do everything I can to help her as well." She says. Tears are falling from my eyes as I listen. I can't listen anymore and go to my room. I lay in bed curled up in a ball. Everything is going wrong. I finally found a happy and amazing place to call home only to find out I'm dying. I can't go through this. I don't want to die. After everything I've made it through I finally have a friend, someone who actually loves me or at least I hope she does. Everything was finally going good for me but now it has turned around again. This ain't supposed to happen.
