Next day
Walking down the stairs the others are all here. Well except Flynn and Cassandra. She isn't here for some reason and he hasn't returned yet from his quest or whatever it's called. "Hey Estelle." Ezekiel says. "Hello." I say. I walk over to the table rubbing my head. "Where is Cassandra?" I ask. "She went to see a friend. I'm not quite sure who but she will be back soon." Jenkins says. I nod and sit down. "Is there anything to do today?" I ask. "Actually yes. The Library needs to be organized. There is books lying everywhere." He says. The guys both whine. "Organizing? That is the most born there ever." Ezekiel says. "I agree with Jones. Organizing has never been something I'm good at." Stone says. "Will the two of you stop whining." Eve says. She then turns to me. "What is your view on this?" She asks. I scratch my head. "I've always hated organizing." I say. She signs and shakes her head. The clippings book starts to go crazy and we both walk over. I read the page and I'm shocked. "Eagle Valley Museum in Nevada." She says. "Well let's go." Ezekiel says. "Wait." She says. He stops and turns. "We have to figure out why first." Shd says. I really the passage. "It says some of the workers have been acting weird like something has taken over them." I say. "Okay so magical artifact is in the museum making the workers go crazy. Let's go!" Ezekiel says. "Okay." Eve says giving in. "I'll stay here and work on trying to find something on artifacts that will do something like that." I say. "Nope. You will join the others." Jenkins says. "Jenkins!" I think. "Go." He says. I groan and grab my bag of books. "Fine!" I say. I follow them and we go through the door. We appear in the town and Eve looks around. "Okay let's go." She says. We walk through the town and to the museum. I wrinkle my noise as we get close. We walk in the door and everyone but me looks around. "Well, well look who has returned." A voice says. I look to see Cyrus walking this way. "Hey guys!" Cassandra says walking behind us. "Where were you Cassandra?" Eve asks. "I had to see someone about Getting something." She says. I look at her to see her grinning big. Cyrus gets to us and grabs my hand. "It has been a bit Estelle." He says. I pull my hand free and back away. "Don't even!" I warn. He smirks. "You know him?" Eve asks. "Yes. I used to live in the town before I moved where I am now." I say. She nods. "Come, I will show you all around." He says. I don't move but the others go to follow. He turns to me and sighs. "It's in the past Estelle. Come on." He says. "I'd rather not." I say. Eve turns to me for. "What happened between you two?" She asks. "Well I started coming here when I could and he decided he wanted to force me to live with him and never leave his house. I ran and got away." I say. She looks shocked. They come to my side and stand around me. Eve stands right in front of me and Cassandra right against my left side. Ezekiel is on my right and Stone is beside Eve. "Don't worry. I have no use for her anymore. She is to much of a wimp to be mine." He says. Cassandra goes to step forward but I grab her arm. "It isn't worth it Cassandra." I say. She looks at me and i give her a slight smile. "What he says doesn't matter." I say. Light shines in my eye and I turn my head. A new artifact is sitting on a platform. "Cyrus when did you get that?" I ask. He looks at it and smiles. "Just the other day. The day after you left actually." He says. I walk towards it and the others seem confused. I stand here looking at it. "Estelle what is it?" Eve asks. "It is Ancient Egyptian. There is a warning on the artifact itself." I say. "You are right." Stone says looking at it. I reach up to touch it. "Don't touch it. It is far to valuable." Cyrus says. I ignore him and run my fingers over it. "What does it say?" Ezekiel asks. "It says that those who wish for glory will pay the price." I say. "But those who don't wish for glory will go free." Stone finishes. I jod. "So if someone wishes for glory comes in contact with this thing they are changed into weird crazy people." Ezekiel says. "It seems that way." I say. Cassandra stares off into space and looks to be looking at different things. "So the workers who have been acting strange want glory. They want to be known everywhere." She says. I nod and she looks at me worried. Ezekiel goes to touch it but Eve grabs his hand. "Don't even dare!" She warns. He backs away and looks angry some. Eve goes to grab the artifact but Cyrus takes it. "You can't have what doesn't belong to you." He says. "Cyrus that belongs in the right hands which is not yours." I say. He backs away with the artifact. "Let's go. We will figure a way to get it." Eve says. We leave the museum and I think as we walk. I've only seen an image of that artifact once but that was a long time ago. Back when I was just starting college. I never did learn about it. My Professor said I was never supposed to see the picture at all. "Estelle?" Stone asks. I look up with a hum. "What?" I ask. "Are you okay?" He asks. I nod. "Yes. Just thinking about how we could possibly get the artifact." I say. He nods. "We will figure out a way." Cassandra says.
Later that day (about 3:00 PM)
We are headed back to the museum to get the artifact. We are going to distract Cyrus while Ezekiel steals it. A phone rings and I look to see Cassandra answering her phone. "Hello?" She says. There is a pause. "This is her." She says. I am confused as is the others. Her face suddenly pales and worry fills me. "Thank you for letting me know." She says. Her voice sounds hurt and I'm scared some. She hangs up and I step closer. "Cassandra?" I ask. She looks at me then down. "What is wrong?" Eve asks. "Nothing." She says. She looks up and tries to smile. "Let's get this done." She says. She walks off and worry fills me. We follow her and I walk by her side. I look at her but she won't look at me. It worried me and makes me wonder who called. We get to the museum and walk in. "Might as well leave. You won't get it." Cyrus says. "Actually we came to the you up on yiur offer of showing us around." Eve says. He narrows his eyes but gives in. "Very well. Follow me." He says. We follow him and I stick beside Cassandra. Ezekiel didn't walk in with us so that Cyrus didn't suspect anything. As we walk I keep looking at Cassandra. She seems to keep herself occupied with everything around us. I am worried about her and don't want to her to be hurting. We go around the whole museum and back where we started. "Does anyone have any questions?" Cyrus asks. "No. You explained everything really well. I am impressed by your knowledge of everything." Stone says. He nods and looks at me. I ignore him though to worried about Cassandra. Suddenly Eve's phone rings. "Hello." She answers. She nods her head as whoever it is talks. She hangs up and turns. "Jenkins wants to have a get together." She says. "Well we are already together so why not go visit him." Stone says. Eve nods. "Thank you for the tour. We really appreciated it." She says. A man walks over and whispers. Cyrus seems to grow angry and grabs hold of me. We don't have time to react before he jerks me from the others. "What is going on? Let her go!" Eve demands. Cassandra looks shocked and scared some. "Return what you stole and I'll let her live. If not then I'll kill her." He warns as he holds a knife to my neck. I feel myself starting to get worried but I push it away. "Go on and leave. What happens to me doesn't matter." I say to them. "Not true!" Cassandra says. I smile slightly. "Go on." I say. Stone steps forward. "Let our friend go or else." He warns. Only he doesn't listen. I take a deep breath and relax. "Guys don't get hurt because of me. Go." I say. Before Cyrus can do anything he falls. "Jenkins!" Eve says. I turn to see him standing there holding an Egyptian artifact. "I figured you may need some help." He says. "Let's go." Eve says. I look to see several workers come towards us. We run out the door and straight into the Library. Ezekiel stands there with the artifact in a sphere. I walk to the table and lean against it. I hang my head and take deep breaths. "Don't ever say what happens tobyou doesn't matter! It will always matter." Eve scolds walking over. I don't move. "Why would you say something like that? You are a member of our team." She says. I close my eyes for a moment and then stand up fully. "I think I'm going to go work on some stuff I need to get done." I say. I go to leave but she grabs my hand. "I've tried being respectful and let you have space but something is wrong and I will to know." She says. I pull free and walk away. "It is nothing." I say. I walk off and in a room that has books everywhere. I sit at a table and sigh. I rub my face and try to relax. Cassandra comes to mind and I remember something isn't right. I get up and go back into the room they are in. They look at me but I ignore them and go to Cassandra. "Cassandra." I say. She looks at me. "What is it?" She asks. "What was the phone call? You grew upset afterwards." I ask. She looks down. "Oh that." She says. "Wait phone call?" Jenkins asks. She closes her eyes. "It was Goodman." She says. I grow worried now. "What did he say?" I ask. She opens her eyes and I see pain and hurt. Just that look alone tells me everything. "Oh." I say. My voice is low. "Goodman? Cassandra what is wrong?" Eve asks. Cassandra looks at me and I give her a look saying not to say anything. "May I speak to Estelle alone?" Cassandra asks. She looks at the other three and they look hesitant but leave. Jenkins walks off and comes back. "I'm so sorry Estelle. I wish the results were positive." She says. I give a slight smile and rub her arm. "It is fine. Don't worry about anything. It is most likely for the best anyway." I say looking away. She grabs my arm and I look back at her. "The best? Estelle you are going to die if we can't find a donor. How can that be best?" She asks. I look away. "Cassandra I know you don't want to me to die but it is going to happen. There isn't anything we can do to stop it. There isn't any use in letting the others know. It is best if they don't find out until it is the end." I say. She makes me look at her. Tears are in her eyes. "I can't lose you Estelle. I won't lose you. We have to try and find a donor. We can't give up." Shs says. "I gave up long ago." I say. I pull away and walk up to my room. I sit down in the floor and try to read but I'm unable to.
